Quick scouting report:

 

 

This guy has got a chance to be very good not only as a receiver, but also as a return man. Quick has a good size and speed combination, faster than most on the field, but maybe not elite speed - is extremely quick. Breaks tackles through tough running rather than strength and power. Displays very good short space quickness and change-of-direction ability makes him a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Finds the holes in zone coverage, does a nice job of coming back to the QB in scramble situations. Understands where the safeties are and makes subtle route adjustments to maintain spacing. Runs very hard after the catch, does not shy away from contact, willing to go over the middle on in-cuts and slip screens. Catches the ball away from his body, adjust well to the ball over his shoulder. Plucks with ease and can transition without wasted movement. Has quick hands. Not a sharp route runner at this time on his cuts, does not snap his routes off at the top the way he is capable of. His skill set gives him big upside in this area. Good vertical route runner that can eat cushion and run by DBs. Can improve at the top of routes and use his explosion to gain separation. Great run after catch production in high school, can start and stop on a dime and runs hard through contact. Great vision with the ball. Good cut back ability and can reverse his field to make something out of nothing. Enjoys contact, enough size to develop into a solid blocker at the next level. Gets good position and uses his hands. Quick may not be a viable redzone target for the next level, but he is very scheme versatile and makes plays. 200m state champion in Kentucky.

Hatcher is a prospect who with further development displays the tools to be a good well-rounded college D-End. He is a physically good looking kid with solid height and a good thick muscular like build and his frame should be able to support some additional size with time in a college weight program. He flashes a nice initial burst. He demonstrates a fairly good feel for reacting to blocking schemes and does a good job of getting hands on blockers and can come across the ball and squeeze. He can fire out low and get under blockers pads and gain leverage, but needs to do a better job of shooting his hands and creating separation to help get off blocks. Needs to keep working on his ability to take on the double team. He looks to give good effort and displays solid pursuit speed. It is not always pretty, but he is a solid tackler and displays strong hands to be able to drag down ball carriers when he gets cloth. As a pass rusher he does a nice job of using his reach to maintain some space and can be active with his weapons in working to knock down blockers hands. He flashes the ability to be able to get under blockers pads and create pressure with power and if given the inside he sees it and can redirect well enough to counter and come back underneath. Hatcher is not a kid that just wows in any particular way and he does have room for improvement, but he displays the ability to be able to get the job done and be a productive player.

Have you ever tried to catch a grasshopper? You cup your hands around it slowly, then quickly cup your hands together around the grasshopper, and just before your hands close, the grasshopper jumps between them and eludes your capture?

I love how the "knock" against him, is a lack of "elite" speed....yet he shows elite speed in track.....funny.

Just like Espn on there fab50 H.S. Team Ranking. Espn doesn't do their home work. they never go to any of the games. It is the same case here on Quicks ranking & to say he doesn't have elite speed is just laughable. Yes he ran 4.7 at camp in Atl but he slipped & stumble for the first 10 yards. If you did your homework you'd know that he has since run 4.4 40ty & 10.6 100m. last but not least watch him blow past every defenders he has faced. C'mon ESPN!!!

I talk with the Howie Lindsey (Louisville's Rivals page) quite a bit, he is shocked that Quick isn't garnering more respect on there.

Glad you brought that up because Mr Quick is actually faster on the football field, you see, it's called game speed. Meaning he plays faster than what any stop watched says. I bet if you ask any of the teams trinity faced & they all will tell you Quick has Elite speed that's included lou st x.

I just assumed that his track speed equated to game speed based on what I have heard about him. I have yet to see him play so I asked if he was not fast on the field. floridaboy set me straight it seems.
