June 1, 201214 yr It wouldn't shock me to see them take him and to see him be a really good pro. I just want to see MKG in Cleveland and if Barnes goes to the Bobcats then that gets MKG closer to Cleveland. Barnes and Uncle Drew together=blasphemy.
June 2, 201214 yr I like Barnes skill set but he is missing "IT". I can't put my finger on it but he just seems to disappear and isn't engaged in the game at times. If he figures that out I agree he can be a very very good pro. I still remember GT telling us that exact same thing about Barnes coming out of high school. Maybe he can finally learn it after awhile in the NBA.
June 2, 201214 yr Barnes and TJ don't have that killer instinct that many good NBA players do. They'll do well enough to win but only well enough. I want to see what they can do if they find that mentally to go all out the whole game instead of disappearing at times.

June 5, 201214 yr I love MKG, but I would take Beal too. MKG will have a solid NBA career and will be a contributor throughout his career. However Beal could be a really good scorer, and I can see him being a lot like a Caron Butler type. Not a star, but a very good player and scorer. Beal is also a very good rebounding guard. He's not only going to get his points, but hes going to pull boards as well. I've liked Beal's game for a while, one of the purest 2G's to come out in a few years. Always liked his scoring ability better than Rivers', I watched a few games from Brandon Knight's senior year, Austin Rivers/Brad Beals junior year, and watched them all play on the USA U17 team a few years ago and just loved all their abilities to score the basketball. Especially as high school players, Knight was my favorite but only because of my Kentucky bias. Beal was right up there though, watching him play that summer for team USA is what got me to really like him. He can fill it up. I always respected Rivers game and ability to score but never really liked him much. All three very fun to watch in high school though.
June 5, 201214 yr I disagree, I think MKG would fit much better into a role where he isn't expected to be a huge contributor on offense with a team like Boston. He can do a lot of others things to still help the team win. He is going to be a terror on defense for years to come. Agree. Beal can go to a team and give them 20 and 7 no matter if its Charlotte or wherever. He's going to be able to score and help a team. If MKG goes to Charlotte, he would have no help getting any kind of offensive pressure removed, so he would only be contributing by his defense, rebounding, hard play, etc. However, if he goes to a team that had a couple other offensive threats, he would be so much more effective. It would open up more driving lanes for him to slash with the basketball, and he would be more free to roam and make plays as opposed to teams being able to pretty much commit two guys or focus the defense on him, limiting his options. Plus, MKG's hard play and winning mentality could really help push a quality team over the top. He can bring it as much as he wants, but if it's just him and Kemba in Charlotte, they're still going to get thrashed, no matter how hard his motor is running, or no matter how strong his winning mentality is. It is true MKG is a winner, its also true he's played on some mighty talented squads. He's never really just been the only guy ala Austin Rivers at Winter Park.

Even Vince Carter is labeled a borderline Hall of Famer. Rasheed Wallace. Stackhouse. Who else is there? Outside of them and the whole bushel of UNC stars where are the ones who became superstars? Barnes will be no different.
