May 17, 201214 yr That's why you don't pass it to Steve Blake/Mario Chalmers with the game on the line. Artest should have waited for Kobe to get open. This series is over. Up 7 2 minutes to go and Lakers go TO, TO, Kobe miss, and Kobe Miss next 4. No excuse to lose that game.

Really though....Kobe needs to look at himself first. I feel sick. I'm out. Going to listen to Barkley dog the Lakers for giving up a 9-0 run to end the game.
May 17, 201214 yr I almost never get this upset about games I spectate. But the last two minutes blew my mind. Mike Brown is about as proficient as a certain guy Bengals fans love to hate. Actually, the Bengals MB, has made more winning moves in the last two years. Scott Brooks crushed him down the stretch. Lakers have to burn last time-out to save a five count at 18 seconds. That can't happen. Throw it to the open guy and let Kobe come get a handoff. It's what they did after the time-out anyway. Brillant. At 18 secs Kobe gets the ball and dribbles it to six or so when the Thunder use free foul. Down, one, you can't waste that much time. Look to score, if you don't you can still extend the game. Terrible. In all honesty, if I'm Blake, I look right back at Kobe and tell him at least I got a good shot up. I'd ask, why you did you stand there and dribble in the same place for 10 seconds? Lakers down 0-2 is what I expected. Hold court in LA and advance the series. But this one was tough to watch unfold, because the steal game was there for the taking. OKC is going to get at least 1 IMO and most likely it will be game 4. Going to be very hard for the Lakers to win both those games.

May 17, 201214 yr As I reflect back on that game I kind of see that as the turning point in Kobe's career. He's clearly not that closer anymore. He completely folded down the stretch, something you don't see very often out of him. His best basketball is clearly behind him and that makes me very sad. I knew he was on the back half of his career obviously but I never expected him to just a give away a game like that. Hopefully he can team up with someone and grab a ring or 2 on his way out. I know Steve Blake ended up wide open but it had nothing to do with the play MB drew up, it was just Westbrook being stupid. If he drew that play up trying to get Kobe the ball he is a fool. Flare screen across the court with Ibaka in the way. Please. Now excuse me while I go cry in the corner.

He ran Kobe away from the ball and forced a tough pass regardless of how open he is.

And a little more when I was alone on the roof at work.
