FAB 50 Offseason Primer: Louisville Trinity

Featured Replies

Team Strengths: Trinity will bring back touted wide receiver/kick returner James Quick. Rated the nation’s No. 59 recruit in the ESPN 150, Quick earned ESPNHS Underclass All-American honors this past season after catching 82 passes for 1,434 yards and scoring 22 total touchdowns. Junior quarterback Travis Wright passed for 3,036 yards and 39 touchdowns with just three interceptions. And junior running back Dalyn Dawkins rushed for 1,901 yards on 237 carries and scored 34 total touchdowns. All three played huge roles in Trinity averaging nearly 50 points per game last season. Trinity’s main concern is replacing five graduated offensive linemen.

What kind of options is the QB going to have for college ball?

He is very under recruited right now especially for a qb with numbers as gaudy as his. I see a lot of preferred walk on offers coming his way but with his talents and accuracy I could see him becoming a poor mans Kellen Moore if he gets the shot.

WOW didn't realize all three mentioned were only going to be juniors, I thought Quick was the only Junior in that bunch.

They will be seniors. My guess ESPN is referring to what grade they are in now.

How could they leave out Jason Hatcher? Teams don't even run plays to his side of the field.

Do you think Wright gets overlooked because of vast amount of talent around him? If so, do you think he would get more recruiting attention in a program that did not have d1 talent at nearly every position?

No I don't think he gets overlooked he gets enough attention if anything playing with all of this talent helps Travis. I think that the question that college coaches have are trying to answer is about his height and arm strength than anything. I think if they give him a shot he will produce. Or he could make a very very good d2 or NAIA quarterback.

I think its because of the vast amount of YAC his top receiver records. He doesn't throw deep balls all game to achieve those numbers.

The kid is good but he is not overlooked. Said it before - size and arm strength are the issues.

Great minds think alike sir.
