Mustang Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I was notified today that the Touchstone Energy All "A" Boys and Girls State Tournament Brackets have been posted. Touchstone Energy All "A" State Tournament Brackets The Boys Brackets are: Region 11 vs Region 2 Region 7 vs Region 3 Region 15 vs Region 1 Region 9 vs Region 16 Region 12 vs Region 6 Region 5 vs Region 8 Region 13 vs Region 4 Region 14 vs Region 10 The Tournament runs from Thursday, February 2nd through Sunday, February 5th at McBreyer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. Who do you project will come out of each region and what interesting potential matchups loom?
cch5432 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I don't know who will come out of each region but from their game against my colonels I would say that Owensboro Catholic comes out on top.

Despite a post I saw in anther thread calling OCath a "very, very average team"; I think they have to be co-favorites along with UHA in the All "A". I think the 9th region rep, whoever it may be; has a shot at making some noise, despite drawing in on the same side of the bracket as the two above!!
RonnieThePopular Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I will say either Hazard or Lee County will represent the 14th in the state all a. If lee co gets past Jackson city in the first round, no doubt they will play hazard to decide the final.
westsider Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 There could be a quarterfinal game pitting Owensboro Catholic against either University Heights or Trigg County ... a potential title-game caliber matchup.
westsider Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Region 11 vs Region 2Lexington Christian, Sayre or Frankfort vs. University Heights or Trigg County ... could be a good matchup if LCA wins the 11th. Region 7 vs Region 3Somebody gets to be a sacrificial lamb for Owensboro Catholic ... ugly. Region 15 vs Region 1Paintsville, Shelby Valley or East Ridge vs. St.Mary, Mayfield or Fulton County ... a good matchup. Region 9 vs Region 16Covington Holy Cross, Newport Catholic or (gasp) Beechwood vs. Fairview or Elliott County ... could be a better matchup than some might think? Region 12 vs Region 6Somerset or Danville vs. Shawnee, maybe ... the 12th winner should prevail. Region 5 vs Region 8Bardstown, Caverna or Fort Knox against maybe Carroll County ... the 5th winner should win. Region 13 vs Region 4Barbourville vs. Russellville? If so, should be a good one. Region 14 vs Region 10Hazard vs. Bishop Brossart? Could be a dandy finale.
