Yes. It's an editorial, not a news account.

Now, now, now, those justices this guy agrees with certainly can't be political or partisan, can they?

As to whether or not it's ok for a UK professor to write such a blatantly partisan article, sure it's ok. It's an opinion piece.

Exactly.

Didn't even have to read it to know my answer. A professor at a state university can be as partisan as he/she choses in a newspaper editorial...

Didn't read it either and I agree with you completely on this point.

It's not an editorial. It's an op-ed column. Editorials are unsigned, as what is written in them is the consensus of a news media outlet's editorial board.

I'm sure this professor supports every liberal judge's decisions and thinks they are wonderful and that is the way the world should be. God forbid that a conservative argument win out.

You can't have it both ways. You can't defend the liberal activist judges when they legislate from the bench and chastise the conservative ones.

Food for thought.

Is it his right to say his peace? Yep.

Does UK have a right to punish him in some way?

Curious...punish him for what?

No way. It would be chilling if they could, or even tried.

For having an opinion? Perish the thought!

Did Ozzie Guillen not get suspended for having an opinion about Castro.

I'm not saying the prof should be punished or suspended, but he does represent the school and it's interests.

^ And what about the particular opinion in question merits punishment/suspension?
