April 30, 201214 yr Rolen since the start of the 2011 season: .230-7-44 in 322 AB ... .272 OBP, .382 SLP, .654 OPS That's not very valuable, even if his defense is Gold Glove caliber ... he's not producing anything offensively. I'd be willing to bet the players on the Reds feel Rolen is very valuable to the success of the club. I see you ignored my question? But that's pretty typical of you.

I answered it. You probably just didn't like the answer. Really, you want a third baseman with a .650ish OPS in the lineup every day? No one is asking Rolen to put up huge numbers at this point in his career ... some offensive contribution has to be expected, though. And what success have the Reds enjoyed since Rolen's bat went into the tank?
April 30, 201214 yr I answered it. You just didn't like the answer. Really, you want a third baseman with a .650ish OPS in the lineup every day? You clearly did not answer my question. Why do 3B have to put up huge offensive numbers? As far as your question....If the Reds win I could care less how bad Rolen does.
April 30, 201214 yr You clearly did not answer my question. Why do 3B have to put up huge offensive numbers? I didn't say they had to ...
April 30, 201214 yr I didn't say they had to ... So why wouldn't Cozart hit enough to play 3B? He'd be in the middle of the pack as far as regular 3B go this year in OPS...
April 30, 201214 yr Cozart won't hit enough to play third I didn't say they had to ... Sure sounds like you said it...
April 30, 201214 yr So why wouldn't Cozart hit enough to play 3B? He'd be in the middle of the pack as far as regular 3B go this year in OPS... We'll see if Cozart maintains this level of offense. Besides, it's a waste of Cozart's defensive ability to play him at third base.
April 30, 201214 yr Champman wont be a starter but rest looks good. What in the world leads you to believe this? He'd be there right now if Masset and Bray were healthy. By June 1st, I expect him to be in the rotation.
April 30, 201214 yr The one difference I would say from the original post is most likely Stubbs and Hamilton would be the CF and LF in some combination, and Didi will be the SS. Stubbs in LF and Hamilton on CF would be my guess. I love the look of that lineup.
April 30, 201214 yr Where did I say it? I just posted it....You can do what you always do and try to spin it this way or that, but you said he won't hit enough to play third. What else can that mean?
April 30, 201214 yr  What in the world leads you to believe this? He'd be there right now if Masset and Bray were healthy. By June 1st, I expect him to be in the rotation. Simple fact that hes right now IMO the best bullpen stopper in the game right now, whether it be to hold a lead for the closer, or to stop the bleeding. If you throw him out there for 6 innings every 5 days, 1. I have concerns about his arm, 2. batters will figure him out alot quicker, and who knows how good he really will be. Right now he is doing really well in his role, if its not broke, dont fix it.

You may not want him as a starter, but that's what's going to happen.
April 30, 201214 yr I just posted it....You can do what you always do and try to spin it this way or that, but you said he won't hit enough to play third. What else can that mean? It means I don't think Cozart is going to be a good enough hitter to man third base ... nothing more, nothing less.
April 30, 201214 yr Simple question... Would you rather have one of the best setup men in baseball or a guy that could be a #1 or #2 starter? I'd take my chances on the guy that could be a #1.
