Bengals 1st Round Picks

Featured Replies

When isn't he taking any shot possible at Cincy?

Seems like he loves to pick on the little guy. Not sure if I have ever heard him say one good thing about Cincinnati.

Coward is drilling Cincy for drafting Kirkpatrick

What did he say and what are the kids off the field issues.

Cowherd is a moron. He hates anyone that's had any type of off-field issues.

I know I said I was not sold on Kirkpatrick, however I do agree they had to take him.

To be fair to him, he said he's absolutely loved the Bengals last couple drafts and if they were a stock he'd buy them in a heartbeat, but that he thought they really messed up picking Kirkpatrick.

However I still would like to see them get Stephen Hill, I would see about swapping 2nd round picks with someone at top of 2nd round, and also giving them the 3rd round pick we got from the Pats. So this way technically we didn't lose any of our original draft picks, and also filled another need which is a WR opposite of Green.

I wouldn't be opposed to that. I think they have more glaring needs, but if they have an opportunity to grab Hill (or Randle) in the second I could see the reasoning.

I'd rather they go defense again, but am just glad they didn't reach in the 1st round for a WR.

I generally like Cowherd, find him entertaining. Oh well.

As for the Bengals picks I don't really know enough about either guy to make educated comments, however I like the positions they filled, CB and OL. Would have liked for them to have give one of the picks for M. Wallace but that's just me.

What about the guy from South Carolina?

From Peter King:

10. I think I'll get to a lot more of this in Monday's column, but I'd like to throw some empathy Mohamed Sanu's way. The Rutgers wide receiver was on the edge of his seat late in the first round, with the Bengals on the clock at No. 27, when his phone rang. The voice on the other end of the phone identified himself as being from the Bengals, and said Cincinnati was about to pick him. Sanu and those in his draft party exploded in excitement, and agent Mike McCartney even tweeted that Sanu was a Bengal. Then Cincinnati pick Zeitler.

"This is a great kid, I guarantee you, and someone played a cruel joke on him,'' McCartney told me. "It is unreal that someone would do that, but it happened.'' Sanu told McCartney after the draft not to worry about him, he'd be fine, and some team will draft him and get a good player. McCartney's right. Sanu must be a good kid, to respond to something that hurtful with an attitude so hopeful.

^Kinda makes me hope the Bengals end up drafting him....That's wrong on so many levels.

Think he'd be another solid option.

Obviously CB was a big need for the Bengals but I'm not completely sold on Kirkpatrick. I think we could have gotten him maybe a bit later in the 1st round. Hope he works out. I do like the Wisconsin guard that they got. He should be a huge upgrade on the Bengals line. Go Bengals!

Unless we can get him in the 4th round, I would not want him. I only seen a few games of him, however he doesn't run great routes, doesn't really get himself open. He is just so freaking big he was able to go over corners in college. With the game being even faster in the pro's, I am just not sold on him.

Yes the Pac 10 offensive linemen that the Bengals have had in the past were big busts . Couple of guys named Munoz (USC ) and Montoya ( UCLA )

They play a little different now than they did in the 80's.

Which conference has produced the better lineman over the last 10 yrs? (I don't know, that's why I'm asking. Not trying to be a smart arse.)

^I'd go with the Big Ten....Joe Thomas and Jake Long are the best two OLineman in the game IMO.

Arrested for pot possession in January but the charges were dismissed a month later.
