They was alot of over the back calls not called on Morgan Co also. Both coaches were warned very early not to say nothing to the officails and they werent playing. As far as a basket not given credit for that is wrong. I cant even recall what they would be talking about. Im sure Morgan had someone keeping books, the scorekeeper was there, and Mr. West for Belfry (and he dont miss nothing haha).

Morgan has a very affective trap defense also. They really came out and trapped well. Our guards never really got on track shooting the ball for the most part and alot of that was due to Morgans tight defense.

Also how bout the three in the first half by Jamie Case, he shot that from a long ways away. He does that every game and makes them. Him and Matt Maynard are both plaeyrs you better guard from the time they cross half court.

But didn't they call the "proverbial over the back" on McCowan after Morgan missed a shot...but Belfry missed the free throw(s) late in the game?

Yeah they did, but my point was they was a lot of missed calls both ways. One loose ball late in the game Jamie Case was going for the ball and the Morgan player grabbed his arms to keep him from getting it and the ball went back to Morgan Co. My point is just that the officaiating was bad and bad both ways not just one.

Both teams playerd hard and left it all on the court though and we neither can fault neither team for that.

I have been told by someone who knows about such things that Pike County refs are traditionally bad. Also I was as shocked that Coach Perry was called for a T as I would be if a tornado swooped down on my house on a day when the sun was shining and the sky was a calm and blue.

Not just Pike County...15th region as a whole.

Ill agree with that the 15th region refs are bad. I do appologize that this game was so badly called and it was. But it was both ways bad. As far as the T he didnt deserve it but both coaches were warned form the start if they didnt hush then they would get it. That is when you just got to grin and bare it. If I was the coach of either team I would ahve gotten a T also haha.

Morgan has done that a couple of times this year and whistled for "traveling" which I thought was the correct call eventhough it went against Morgan.

I was at a game at the 5/3 tourney a few years ago. One of the coaches was called for a T..no reason....the next trip down the floor a different ref called a T on the other coach...no reason...The crowd felt it was a "make-up" call...sorta even the playing field. :lol:

I think that it would have been called traveling, but the Morgan Co. player reached down and grabbed the ball before complete possession was determined, in turn, it was called a jump ball before the Belfry player called the timeout. I don't really know though to be honest.

 

I do know that the refs called a few "make up" calls for missed ones for both teams. I wish that you could go to a bench and sub the refs.

"Make up calls" are a sure fire sign of poor officiating. I'll have to say though that there is no way I would do that job for the pay they get.
