Nate Jones - Pendleton County HS/NKU

Pitching on ESPN now. Good for him.

Pitched out of a jam and struck out Josh Hamilton. Good job!

Gets out of self-inflicted jam with two walks by getting a DP & then striking out Josh Hamilton. Not a bad debut at all!

As a Pendleton County alumni, I'm glowing with pride tonight. I've been close with Nate's mother for years, and I remember watching Nate pitch in high school. He was incredible. We knew he had the stuff to reach the show; control was his main issue.

Nate has given our community something to be thrilled about, and he's living proof that you don't have to be from a traditional athletic power to reach your goals. He's living every boy's dream, and he deserves every bit of it.

Congrats and good luck to this young man!

Congrats to a fellow Norse.

Jones returned from Tommy John surgery tonight to make a relief appearance for the ChiSox. Retired the side in order, K'd a pair, & hit 100 MPH.

He's pitching these final couple of months for a contract. Would love to see him become a free agent and the Cubs or someone in the Central pick him up.

would LOVE to see him come home and pitch for the Reds.

For sure, but was just being practical, the Reds are loaded now with good young pitching. Would get to see a lot of him with the Cubs, not a big watcher of the AL.

Since his return this year he has pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 1 hit, striking out 7, and no walks.

Another scoreless inning for Nate last night with one walk and one strikeout.
