MLB Division and WS Predictions

Featured Replies

Don't remember Pujols being the MVP last year. David Freese is walking thru that door, along with Carpenter, Wainwright and Garcia. The Cardinals proved last year all you have to do is get hot at the right time. To say a NL Central team doesn't have a shot is asinine.

Wainwright is coming off Tommy John; do we know yet when he's expected back in the rotation? If his recovery allows him to be the pitcher he's capable of being, then that gives them a huge boost. Same goes for Carpenter; I don't think the neck injury is going to subside for quite a while and I'm not anticipating him to have a great season. If he does, then obviously that's two players I don't think are going to be particularly special that would make my predictions for them completely wrong. I just don't see either having a particularly great season.

Carpenter is a bulldog. He'll be back.

If I had to guess I would say he misses more starts than he makes this year.

Wainwright is scheduled to pitch their home-opener, so I'm assuming he's already back in the rotation....:idunno:

 Yeah, that would do it. I just looked it up and he had his surgery on Feb. 28. I had thought it was later. I hope his rehabilitation has gone well and that he's back to form.

That sounds like a non-playoff team to me.

Unless MLB changed the rules a NL Central team has to make the playoffs.
