I would not give out my password to ANYTHING. I will happily add them as a "friend" if they want to monitor my behavior. I'm pretty tame. :lol:

 

On the other hand, I have NEVER posted anything on Facebook that would be harmful to me from an employment standpoint. Before Facebook, I always made sure, as well, I didn't do anything embarassing in public....well....other than tripping and falling, and the like. :lol:

 

Anyway...as a whole, I think posting stuff about your boss on Facebook is as dumb as talking about it to the person who sits next to you at work. If you want to whine about your boss, you make sure you do it with people, and in places, where he/she'll never find out. :lol:

This is ridiculous and the fact that anyone is defending it shocks me.

For me, and I do hire a few people, I would prefer someone with a bit of spirit on FB. If someone told me they weren't a Facebook user I would probably pass on their application. Play hard, work hard is a great philosophy. Many of the people I work with are FB friends and it is simply not a problem.

 

Remember, in just a few years these FB kids will be in charge.

I don't think that businesses should worry about Facebook. However, if they do, how is this violating anyone's rights? Seeking employment with a certain company is optional.

 

I would argue that if a potential employer does not at least do a simple search for a recruit on facebook that they're not doing their due diligence.

Why? You don't see any circumstances where it's critical that a company know all about the person they're hiring? You ever had a family member go through a background check to work for the NSA? Brutal.
