There is no doubt that dominant pitching, regardless of the grade (Smith, Sims, Shackelford, etc. or people who have graduated), make a coach look good - but more important, whether its reloading or rebuilding, those schools that have coaches who have established GOOD PROGRAMS are the ones that win year in and year out. Ryle, Conner, Bishop, SK, Walton, Bracken - they may not all have good coaches in the game, but they have built a softball program and community that is dedicated and players and their families are willing to make a commitment to winning. Love them or hate them, you can't deny their win totals and success year in and year out for the last, say 10 years.

Its crazy how everyone on here gets on BBHS about there program. They have had a great program for a long time. Your talking about a school with 300 plus kids in it and they have competed with the best of the best year after year. ( they'll play anyone )BBHS should take all of these remarks as a compliment IMO. The Freshman pitcher for BBHS is not Miller from last year but Miller her freshman year was not Miller her senior year either. We play them every year and its always a great fastpitch game. Those girls work and play hard and they always look like there having a good time and there fun to watch. BBHS pitcher will be fine she's a freshman !!

Nothing to take. She's a freshmen. Miller wasn't even the varsity pitcher as a freshman. Had Shack Attack been the varsity pitcher at her previous school last year she might be Miller by now. Now, in a new environment she has a great supporting cast that like her is very young. On top of that she has gone from a jv player to the Number 3 hitter on a varsity team what was 26-6 last year. That home run that sailed over the 200 fence, over the grass, over the walking path and into the bushes was a nice added plus as well. 3-0 2.00 ERA and .600 batting average we will take.

I am not bashing her, all I am saying is you are taking a girl who has very little varsity pitching time and expecting her to fill Miller's shoes. She is not Alicia's caliber in my book. That is not a knock on her but some on here want to spin it that way.

Wow can't we all just get along. I didn't read any bashing just impossible to compare a freshman to any sr you all need to get together and have a group hug.

I don't think Sk is that good. Brossart's only had 3 days so I have seen 33%.

 

As far as softball knowledge goes, I was part of a team this past summer that had 10 of 13 girls receive either full or almost full rides to division 1 schools. And I was one of the main contacts with the coaches. Maybe you can ask those girls who are going to go to school for free what my knowledge is.

 

BTW 1 more of the girls will go D1 another will go D2 and one has decided not to play any longer.

 

Believe me SSC is very knowledgable when it comes to fastpitch softball.

I would like to comment on this thread. SSC said that nobody in northern KY thinks Shakleford and Miller are similar. I have to say I totally agree with that statement. Now saying she is not Alicia's caliber is unfair to say as a freshman. From what I have seen of Shakleford pitch, she has a totally different style than Miller. She is a pitcher that hits spots and throws offspeed pitches, Miller blow it by you. That is like comparing Francisco Cordero and Mike Leake, you can't compare, 2 totally different STYLES but both great pitchers.

oh, I forgot YOU are the coach and in charge of getting players now...you don't even know Karly. She is a really nice kid and a nice pitcher. Good luck to her with her new team. Get over it already and support the team you are supposedly associatied with now.

I never say anything bad about her. I said i wish we had her back. It was a compliment to her. I always support the Camels but I don't just set back when it is crazy too. It's called construction criticism. I just asked if she wasn't little. Most who hit balls over a fence are big people. That was a compliment too. I played the game a long time so i know how the batters hit.

Saying you wish we had her back is nothing but a slam to the Lady Camels JV and varsity pitchers...in your own way. Funny how we are the same age and both went to CC but I don't remember you...oh...that's right....because you aren't who you say you are.

Would it be a slam to the Reds to say they would like to have the big hitter guy from St. Louis on their team. She is very good. She it seems can pitch AND hit.
