March 12, 201214 yr I do know I have had to sign the roll every time. That seems to be good validation. Maybe you do not need to show the ID. It could be I just treat it like TSA at the airport with ID in hand and they do not say anything. Don't sign the role you don't vote . those signatures are counted and compared to the number of votes cast on the machines and BG they had better match .
March 12, 201214 yr I've had to sign as well. I don't really know what a photo ID does, in reality. A person can get a fake pretty easily. And if people are worried about illegals getting to vote, wouldn't that be the route the went to do so? Any single function system would be a risk. Security is best when a multi-layer system is used. So 'only' having to show a photo ID would certainly be a risk. Any 'instant registration' would seem to be ripe for abuse. You should have to be on the roll ahead of time. For state that ends up getting picked on as backward it a lot of areas I do have appreciation for Kentucky's system. Rarely are there big controversies with the raw mechanics and we always report quickly at the national level due to the system in place. No hanging chads!

March 13, 201214 yr In the limited reading that I have done, it appears that any ACTUAL VOTER FRAUD usually takes place with absentee ballots. If Mexitucky or Run to State came to my polling place as I know them I would not ask for a photo ID but if Acemona and Moutainref walked in they had better have a one for they would be a cypher to me .I should have said that if an ID has to be shown that he would prefer a photo ID over a SS card or a credit card .

The list included alcohol, cigarettes, sedated, r-rated movie tickets and a couple of items I cannot recall at this time. What is the problem, when I would believe almost all citizens would have ID and the illegal voters could be easily identified?

Why are we implementing new laws when there hasn't been a problem with voter fraud? Voters register at their courthourse. Once they're on the list of approved voters and they show some form of ID when voting that seems good enough to me. Again, what problem are we fixing?
