I admittedly lean Montana/Young because I got to see them. If I could have seen Unitas and Starr I would feel more comfortable with my choice.

I heard Mike and Mike discussing this. Here is how you can try to quantify it IMO. Rank the best QB's of all time. Take where that QB falls in your ranking and add the numbers of the top pair together. The two with the lowest number win. For example, if you rank Manning #1 and Unitas number 5, then their total is 6. If you have Montana 2 and Young 6, then they get 8 so they fall below Manning/Unitas.

 

This list has Montana 1 and Young 5 for a total of 6, and Manning 2 and Unitas 4 for a total of 6 = A tie.
