  1. Actually, that lineup is part of the reason. Tyler Stephenson has been one of the Reds most consistent bats but is consistently sitting at least every 3rd day, sometimes the day before an off day. That can’t happen when things are going poorly. His routine over the years (yes even with a bad bullpen) of leaving a reliever in who clearly doesn’t have it in for 3 batters too long is maddening. On the same token, all too often he has brought in a reliever going well to end a threat and get the last out of an inning (even on 1 pitch!) and remove them for a guy who has been struggling. The biggest most glaring hole is the absolute lack of urgency he has. Things are going awful and we will always get ho-hum David Bell talking about how close they are. Sometimes it’s okay to say we’re getting our butt whipped and we will continue to work to find guys to change that. If managers in bigger markets had teams performing this poorly and had sound bites like Bell they’d be in the national media for it. The MLB is 162 games so it’s a marathon and I get that, but the lazy narrative of a couple games here and there aren’t the big picture is old. Last year they missed the playoffs by 2 games, every year there are 2-4 teams per league within 2 games of the playoffs. You can’t continue to let stretches like that happen or you will always be on that outside. Everyone in Cincy wanted Bryan Price gone after a 3-15 start despite having a roster that started Jose Peraza, Billy Hamilton and Scott Schebler everyday. His bench featured Brandon Dixon, Dilson Herrera and a bad post-contract Mesoraco. His pitching staff included a washed Homer Bailey and even Matt Harvey. Bell is 4-16 in the last 20 and Price got canned for 3-15.
  2. Welp… sorry guys. I’m officially aboard the fire Bell train.
  3. Reds need to attack this pitcher early tonight, but need to do so without the wild hacking at anything approach they’ve shown lately. I feel much better about tomorrow’s game than tonight.
  4. Not really. This is exactly the year I’d expect for them to throw off our argument and get back to the big cities and big money winning next year.
  5. I’ll get this thing back on the tracks since y’all are awful. The Reds (19-28) host the Padres (24-24) for 2 night games and a day time getaway day. The Reds will take 2 of 3 from the Padres and start to right the ship a bit.
  6. You realize they can’t remove NIL money once it’s signed based on playing time, etc. right?
  7. This seems crazy too. It blows my mind every year in KY that teams lose in the postseason (districts) and advance.
  8. I haven't followed as much as I've laughed at the memes, but I agree... something is off.
  9. My ex says “yes… you never want to go too big!”
  10. I heard Mo Egger saying that he believes if UC can get to the semi-finals of the Big 12 tournament, they are right on the bubble to make the NCAA tourney. He added if they make the Championship he thinks they're in for sure. They're a game or two away from doing exactly that. UC is interesting to me. I really don't feel like they should make it after their season if they fall short of hoisting the Big 12 trophy (which I don't think they do), but if they manage to make the tournament, I think they're a team that see's a second weekend. Just so many games they fell just short in this year. Have they learned to finish close games?
  11. Would UL go after Sean Miller? Pat Kelsey is the mid-major that came to my mind, but he's only been mentioned once here.
  12. I can’t believe you all are going to let actual facts get in the way of a baseless, biased and ridiculous statement.
  13. Agree. Just the same as I feel about Dixie staying in the zone. If it helps your team and is within the rules, good for you.
  14. That’s what I was thinking. “Hey, let’s switch out of the defense that’s literally keeping us in the game”
