  1. I believe Wyatt got hurt punting the ball, he wasn't hit. I do believe Riggs is a soccer style kicker. In pregame he looked as if he might have a little stronger leg than Wyatt.
  2. I bet there's more than 20. I think most schools play their freshman up, not their juniors down. Can any of the Birds, Breds, Cov Cath, Ryle fans comment on whether juniors routinely play jv?
  3. Louisville Metro Police Homicide is examining the case(they investigate crimes) at the request of the Commonwealth Attorney's office (they prosecute crimes).....what's your definition of a "criminal probe"? The bottom line, this wasn't a football related death....this was a coach(s) making kids run till they puked, overheated, and sadly Max Gilpin paid with his life. If it wasn't criminal, it was gross negligence at the least on the part of the coaching staff.
  4. Glaser did say pregame that Duece would play but that he was "3rd string" right now.
  5. Louisville St.X and Cincy Moeller routinely don't play juniors. I'm sure there will be dozens of other Ky. teams that won't play juniors on JV...a lot of smaller schools don't have the numbers luxury of risking a junior getting hurt in a JV contest. That being said, there's nothing wrong with doing it...especially makes sense for backup QB's who need the game situation reps.
  6. I must admit I was wrong...I thought this would be close. Tigers looked very solid in all phases of the game. Matt Brutscher and the receiving corps led by Goodwin and Sweeney put this game away early.
  7. I take that as a "yes", juniors played. Either way, that's an impressive win for the Rocks. That group of Moeller sophmores pounded X last year.
  8. Finally, some honesty from the other side of the aisle!! Thanks Sham.
  9. 7 Belfry 5 St.X 3 Central 2 Meade County 1 John Hardin Tiebreaker--Belfry
  10. If Ballard is improved from last year, and Ballard nearly beat X last year....how is this going to be a blowout? I don't think X is better than last year, certainly not on the defensive side of the ball.
  11. I heard they rolled over Henry Clay much like X did.
  12. I think this will be no more than a 2TD win for X--28-14.
  13. It is true...Ballard is Home team @St.X....they get the gate, we get the concessions.
  14. Ballard requested it....I think they are doing stadium renovations.
  15. Very tragic. Condolences to the family and PRP community.
  16. Offensively, I definitely thought Fern Creek was better. Hynes ran and threw for several first downs. I don't know the stats, but I would bet Fern Creek gained more total yards than Henry Clay. I would also bet that if you asked some of the X first teamers who was better they would overwhelmingly pick Fern Creek.
  17. Yes, I thought Fern Creek was better than Henry Clay.
  18. Wow...better Oct.3 then playoff semi-finals.
  19. Denny graduated in 86. He was a two year starter. Junior year he led the Tigers to a 20-0 playoff victory over an undefeated Trinity team that featured Carwell Gardner, Donnie Gardner, Andy Murray and Mike Pfeiffer.
  20. Different knee...non-contact "tweak"...he'll be fine.
  21. He was the 3rd QB to enter the FC scrimmage, if that means anything. I've heard he's improved his foot speed.
  22. Brutcher looked good, as did Buehner. Brutcher is a more natural drop back passer. But he did show good wheels on the first drive by scrambling for about 25 yds on 3rd down. He reminds me a little of former X QB Denny Moorman, very poised and a good decision maker. Buehner looked good as well. It's nice to know our offense shouldn't miss a beat if Brutcher goes down.
  23. Jimmy, you're on the money with your comments about Devontae Beach. He's a quality individual, student and athlete. I didn't know he and KJ were brothers. He can be a devastating lead blocker. He also played the Mike linebacker spot in the scrimmage due to Brutcher being out.
