  1. Sounds like a good hire for the Tigers. They need some D help for sure!! We'll see if the home folks leave him alone and let him work.
  2. Can anyone give a definite answer on this? If it isn't S. Arnett, will he still teach and be an asst. or what?:fight:
  3. No, it's not everywhere... I should have made myself more clear. In other places(states), the principal essentially makes the decision(s) and the school board pretty much "goes with it".
  4. The school board hires everyone... teachers, teacher's aides, principals, etc.
  5. So how did it end? Who did Clay pitch in the game? Who will go tonight for them in the championship?
  6. Any details on this game? Who will Clay pitch in the championship? How did the winning run(s) score against SL?
  7. That's true about Clay Co. having a guy in the mid-80s who was 6'7". His name was Woody Asher. He was there when they lost to Hopkinsville in '85. They also had Sean Pennington that year who was a forward about 6'4" along with Richie who was a freshman. After that I don't remember anyone being over 6'5" at least through '95 exceptTerry Gray who played from '87-90. One of the most skilled teams who probably should've won another championship for Clay Co. was in '92. They had a 3 guard trio of Shannon Hoskins, Robert Marcum and Mark Smith. If their 6'1" center James Downey hadn't torn his ACL that year they very well could have won it all. In '87, the championship year you had 3 guys who were realistically 5'11" and that was both Farmers and Russ Chadwell. Then you had K. Jackson 6'0", Charlie Robinson 6'2" and Boxhead Rawlings 6'1". Clay had maybe one or two in the mid to late 70s who might've been 6'4". Robert Moore was one in the 70s who was about 6'4".
  8. Sounds like the South coaching staff is like B. Keith's old staff at Clay. They knew what the other team was doing better than that team did. I agree, Corbin, South and KC should be the top 3 teams next year as well. Clay loses 2 senior guard and will be very young(no seniors?). By the way, who else is on South's coaching staff besides Wright and Denny?
  9. Clay had one player(#12) who could drive to the basket. Gray could drive but always had to spin back to her right to get a shot off. The offense was somebody flash to the free throw line, take the pass and dump it to Jackson. Lots of potential. Let's don't waste it.
  10. Clay fouled a lot from not being able to guard on the perimeter. Standing straight up a lot. Not moving their feet. Lots of work to do as far as defense and quickness. Good shooters and decent ballhandlers(learn to go left).
  11. I was for Clay but I agree, South looked to be the better team. Much quicker than Clay except for maybe #12 from Clay. She looks to have the most potential for Clay along w/ W.B. Jackson. Clay's future looks bright if they all stay together. Only 1 senior next year??
  12. FINAL, semis of the girls 13th region, Clay will play winner of S. Laurel/Harlan
  13. Bert King was the name I was looking for. Tommy Stewart is another name I forgot.
  14. Just trying to remember who Corbin's starters were in '88. Any help is appreciated. I'm having trouble remembering the point guard. I think he was #30. I do remember Sevier, Gray, Roaden(soph??).
  15. Winning by 20 I doubt it mattered who the refs were:sssh:
  16. How big is Cody Roberts?? He had 17 last night and 8 the game before. He hadn't scored much until the last 2 games. Did he play JV? Nice job from the freshman.
  17. Sounds like Clay is in to some "scrappy" contests lately... I say that's a good sign for the team. I think they had forgotten to "fight" for things in recent years. Sounds like old times for the Tigers. GO BIG CLAY!! Maybe soon Conway can run across the floor in front of the visiting crowd with one of his "special" banners. :argue:
