Regarding the comments about why Scott County kids were caught and students breaking the rule and whining about it, there may be more to it than you are aware. First of all KHSAA is a high school association and not a middle school association. They do not govern over the middle school and they do not have contacts with middle school students or their parents. Because Matt was in middle school and not high school, he never knew about the rule until he was enrolled in school the next year. This may also be the case for Haddix and others that were mentioned earlier. Also, there are schools across the state not following the rule and getting by with it. It seems only the honest are being punished. How many schools are putting their 8th graders back in the middle of the year now, losing records or how many are not reporting?

If I am not mistaken the TSSAA also ruled Joe Mayes from Middlesboro inelligible . I am pretty sure he didn't play basketball. I have family that go to Cumberland Gap High School. I am thinking he might of played baseball though!?

I agree completely. Not only is Matt an outstanding kid and a stand out/ all around athlete, he makes incredibly good grades as well. He deserves his Senior year in sports and the KHSAA is wrong in taking that away from him. I know that without my senior year in sports, my high school years would be tainted and I wouldn't have half the memories I do now. Last time I talked to Matt about the situation he didn't think he was going to be able to play but, I wish him luck in his battle agaisnt the ignorant rule. I played numerous sports with him when I was in highschool and I know for a fact that he is capable of running collegiate level track. If him not being able to run his senior year knocks him out of this opportunity, I would sue KHSAA for enough money to compensate for his college tuition.

I am on the other side of the state and I would appreciate it if someone that just happens to be sitting at the house listening to it on the radio could keep me posted on how the game is going. Tip off is in one hour!

James Strange and Dustin Day from Pineville both seem to step it up... People put so much emphasis on the big dawg and they forget about James.

LOL, I like the grand larceny comment!:laugh: Pineville is a really hot team right now. They picked the perfect time to start clicking. People are over looking them in this game because Corbin has beaten them twice fairly easily. Those people aren't taking into consideration that Pineville wasn't playing to their best ability during those two points of the season. It wasn't until after the second Corbin game that JD Strange had his boys playing to potential. Over 90% of the posts on here have said that Corbin will win! That is the safe answer to go with, but pineville will give them a run for their money. Either way the game goes, both teams are young and have a lot of potential to shake up the region tournament next year. Good Luck to both teams. GO PINEVILLE MOUNTAIN LIONS!

People are over looking Pineville!.. They are hot!.. last time Pineville was this hot, they played Corbin and beat the hounds by 3 at Corbin!.. (05-06 season)... I'm not going to predict this one.. but I will say its going to be a close one with scores in the 70's maybe 80's from both teams.. Good Luck to both teams! GO PINEVILLE!

So, what do you guys think about how these two teams match up? They have played two times this season, Corbin winning both times. Pineville has uped their game though in the past few weeks. I am going to see what other people have to say before I post my prediction and explanation.

I would like to see Corbin pull off the upset.. and yes it is an upset because its been awhile since they have beat South!!!...

It could go either way in this game. Coaching will play a huge roll and Pineville obviously has the advantage in that department. Keys to the game- Pineville- take smart shots- the games i have watched pineville play they have passed on smart shots and taken many bad ones.. keep day in the game- they need to keep him out of foul trouble and they need to feed him at the post as much as possible to open up the 3 ball because they are very capable of shooting.. Knox Central-- everything they did last time they played pineville... take the ball to the paint- work the ball down low and get dustin day in foul trouble shoot the ball- im not sure of the guys name.. but they have a player that is key to the game.. if he plays well, knox co. getting the win will be a whole lot easier... get in their face- pineville doesn't seem to play real well when the defense is up in their face.. they like to have a little cushion --------------------------------------------------- I am not going to predict who is going to win but i will say it will be an extremely close game with both teams scoring around 75.... I have to say either the coach from Corbin or Pineville.... Both teams didn't really play to expectations at the beginning of the season... Corbin bounced back faster than Pineville but Pineville seems to be a little hotter right now.. None the less, both teams have faught their way back where they were before the season started. The top 4 in the region. Coaching is what clawed these teams to where they are now. Both teams are as hot as fire :fire:!
