Hopefully she's ok. We had a girl get hit by a pitch Wednesday in the same spot on the arm, She will have surgery today I think. Another good JV player who started Varsity last weekend at Pete Knoll broke her ankle. We dressed 11 last night and had to play 4 Varsity on JV.

Carroll should have bunted with one out, then not bunted with 2 outs. I think Kenzie's arm may be broke by the way it looked this morning. If not she will pitch next game against Gallatin, at least to one batter.

Kelsey hit one against Dixie and Kenzie hit one against Lloyd. She also pitched a no-hitter in that game.

So how many were hit this weekend? I saw some one field #1. The Ogden girls from Carroll hit a couple. Seen a girl from Knock hit one.

Carroll Co. scored in the 1st with a leadoff double by M Ogden then scored on a wild pitch. VW got their run with a walk then a double by Thacker. Bottom of 7th Carroll's pitcher S Hawkins just missed a walkoff HR by 12 inches. and wound up with a double. She was ran for and next batter Yocum hit a single to score the winning run. I think both pitchers had 10 K's each.

We talking olympians or high school? Why would Finch cover first when she had the best 1st and 2nd basemen in the world on her team. If a 1st basemen can get to a ground ball they better catch it. Just sayin keep it in the dirt. If the ball goes into right field, you won't need anyone covering first.

Never A. Don't assume 2nd basemen will catch it. B would be preferred. There are 2 types of pitchers, 1- pitcher only. 2-pitcher/athelete. 1 hardly ever gets out of the circle, and 2 can cover first if needed. If the pitcher covers first they should practice it. If done right there will be no collisions. Pitcher #1 you probably don't want out of the circle. Pitcher #2 will probably field all bunts as well as cover first. The only time our pitcher comes out of the circle is when there is a fly ball about to land in it.

Although Carroll Co. is not considered Northern Ky. I would put their middle infield up against anyone anywhere.

Would you paid any attention if you seen them run home to first 2.7 in the mud, throw over hand 70mph, hit one 250' or throw a runner out from home with a pop time of 1.75? In the same game on video where you could time everything yourself?

The batters should hit off a Tee. I don't like games being decided by strikeouts.

Sounds like maybe you don't have any players that can hit home runs so you moved it back further so it would be harder for those who can.

I'll explain. Back in the old days when we rolled in to a field and the fences were far or the wind was blowing in 40 mph, thats what we would say referring to hitting a homerun. As we entered Shelby County's field last year, my daughter looked at their long fences and said I doubt I can hit one outta here. I said you gotta hit em to get em, and she new what it meant. Yes 200 ft would have been better.

Carroll County has been going at it since school started. We only had 13 girls in the whole program last year. 1 graduated and another starter chose not to play this year due to family issues. Numbers are better this year but all new players are mostly 6th graders with no softball experience at all.
