Owen cut it to six in the third, but quit executing on offense. Again, turnovers killed them. They won in spite of them in the three previous games, but that won't work against Gallatin. It is surprising that Owen consistently ignores their own scorers and players don't seem to know their roles. It's early, they can make a lot of improvement.

I would call this an upset if Gallatin wins. Haven't seen either play, just going on players coming back from last year. Admittedly, that is not always a good indicator.

Hopefully, the three clowns that called tonight's game won't be there to screw it up.

I thought Owen beat Carroll bad on the boards. I think 4 players had 8 or more boards, and Owen beat them down the floor a lot. Carroll has some talented players, but they play better in the half court set than running it up and down the floor. Owen's turnovers kept Carrol in it in the first half pr it would have been over a lot earlier.

I guess there aren't many of us that can afford the subscription fee.

I definitely understand that. Just trying to give Owen a little credit. The kids work extremely hard down there, not a bad attitude on the team, and the majority are A students.

When Owen starts cutting down the turnovers and the jump shots start going down they will be a lot harder to beat than people have given them credit. Most of the conversation seems to be Gallatin, Carroll, Trimble, Walton, but i believe these kids will surprise some people.

I see that this post has been predominantly populated by Paris supporters. No problem with that. But what is it with Owen County football? A lot of people were expecting at least 5 or 6 wins. Also, a lot more kids are out this year. Is it conditioning? team speed? I don't think it's a size thing, since they generally stack up pretty well, at least watching from the stands they do. They will lose a bunch of seniors that play a lot of minutes. Next year could be brutal.

High schools make up the membership of KHSAA. And, for the record, a system that takes you out of the running for a national championship due to one loss that may occur in September, needs to be replaced. Maybe we could just start voting for the State Basketball Champion and skip the tournaments. I vote for Dawson Springs.

If Kentucky's current system is so great, then why is South Dakota the only state(with the exception of Kentucky) that does not class basketball. I would bet the people in Indiana that say their high school basketball has been ruined are not from the smaller school districts. KHSAA(a rogue organization, to say the least) will not consider a change unless they see some dollar signs. When KHSAA starts considering something other than money and their expense accounts, free tickets, etc. there could be a change. That would mean an overhaul of the current board and administration. This is similar to the absolute refusal of college football going to a playoff system. There is no inexplicable reasons other than self-interest and $$$$$.
