  1. Now NINE in a row and finally the Cubs win a series on the road!! In a related story the Reds are now 10 games out. :sssh:
  2. Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Do something really classy in recognizing Jr and then boo their own pitcher. Just awesome.
  3. That's really cool that the Philly fans gave him a standing ovation.
  4. 2nd and 3rd, nobody out, facing THAT lineup in your first ever appearance and you don't give up a run??? :scared::scared: Just WOW.
  5. Why did Harang even start the 7th? Can anyone answer me that?
  6. Anybody but Patterson, but with that said: Freel is hurt Harang can't get any run support Reds just struggling again on the road Thankfully the Reds still have another 50 games or so at home, so if they can win most of those they can still finish around .500.
  7. Griffey out again? That's not good at all, I wonder if it's more serious then they are leading on.
  8. As everyone has said, great pictures and just a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing. :thumb:
  9. No surprise here, this team needs an overhaul. As a Bulls fans, I don't mind if they take several years to put things back together.
  10. Utley is batting .320 with a major league-leading 21 home runs and 52 RBIs. The record for home runs hit by a second baseman is 42, set by Rogers Hornsby in 1922 and tied by Davey Johnson in 1973. Philadelphia’s Adam Eaton (1-3, 4.99 ERA) allowed one run and four hits while striking out six in six innings as the Phillies beat Colorado 6-1 on Wednesday night for his first win of the season. He has given the Phillies a chance to stay in games this season after going 10-10 with a 6.29 ERA in 2007. The veteran right-hander is 2-0 with a 4.19 ERA in six starts against the Reds. Aaron Harang (2-7, 3.81 ERA) pitched well against the Phillies on April 5, allowing two runs and six hits while striking out six in seven innings as the Reds won 4-3. But he is 1-1 with a 6.62 ERA in six career starts versus the Phillies. The right-hander is 0-4 with a 5.47 ERA in four road starts. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=280603122
  11. Shouldn't have been that close, but who cares, now EIGHT in a row!!! Great start to the road trip. :ylsuper::ylsuper:
  12. To think of all the Detroit fans that stayed up this late to watch this and now have to get up in a few hours to go to work. Oh well.
  13. I don't really care who wins this series, but this has been some great hockey to watch. I would love to see Pittsburgh win the next two and force a Game 7. You see a game go this long with this much on the line, you just don't want to see it end.
  14. While it's only one game, I'm happy to eat a little bit of crow and give Majewski credit on coming in, doing his job and keeping the Reds in it.
  15. Yep, I saw that one when roaming YouTube as well. I can only imagine the pranks and stuff that go on throughout a long, long baseball season. Funny stuff.
  16. Speaking of Tim Hudson and speaking of weird: http://youtube.com/watch?v=EGSI316RwWs :lol:
  17. You consider that going into that draft the Reds had Kearns, Dunn, Griffey in the outfield. They also had Freel, Willy Mo Pena and the great Chris Denorfia. Granted, you draft 2, 3 or 4 years in advance with these things, but I wouldn't be surprised if people were upset considering the other pressing needs at the time. It is fun to look at the Reds pitchers in 2005.
  18. While we kill time before the game tonight, check out this list of players taken BEFORE Bruce Almighty. Hindsight is always 20/20, but a fun list to look at.
  19. Even though his comments are stupid, I think it's great when someone just speaks their mind and doesn't follow the tried and true/boring answers. Too bad these two teams don't mean again til next year, someone will have to remember to drag these comments out when the time comes.
  20. Yes, the Cubs haven't had "this good" of a team in a while, BUT they have had some good teams here and there over the years and we know how the story ended. I'm as anxious and excited as the next person, but I'm also trying to keep things in check as well.
  21. I was talking on the Reds thread about the brutal schedule that Cincinnati has to face in June. Same thing for the Cubs, 23 of their next 32 are on the road. We shall see how good this team is at the end of this month. They are enjoyable to watch and are off to a great start, but goodness knows Cubs fans have been down this road before.
  22. Kendrick (4-2, 4.84 ERA) is 3-0 with a 4.98 ERA in his last eight starts, with seven of them resulting in wins. Kendrick is 2-0 in two career starts against Cincinnati, despite a 6.55 ERA. He beat the Reds on April 4, allowing four runs over five innings in an 8-4 win, as the teams went on to split a four-game set. Bronson Arroyo (4-4, 5.29) dropped the finale of that series, getting tagged for five runs and nine hits, including four homers, in 5 2-3 innings of a 5-3 loss on April 7. That came during his disappointing start to the season when he went 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA in his first 10 starts. Arroyo has since rebounded, going 2-0 with a 2.19 ERA in his last two outings. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=280602122
  23. When he pitched for the first time last year he had all the pressure on him to be "the savior". Now he comes in kinda under the radar with Votto and now Bruce getting all the headlines, not to mention Voltron. Wouldn't be shocked to see him get pasted, but I wouldn't be surprised if he pitches halfway decent either. I really don't think he will pitch well over the long haul, but I would love to be wrong about that.
  24. I'm not going overboard, I simply said that if this team can find a way to hover around .500, they will be in the hunt. Who knows what dear ole Walt might do if this team is in it at the trade deadline. As I said before, we will know how good or bad this team is at the end of June.
