How do JC and Highlands match up? Who will win? Why? I would like this to be only for Ashland supporters who went to the Highlands game. My guess is, since the JV is in. The kicker is a starting lineman that has been out a while...no sense in sending in a cold player. I could be totally wrong, but that is my best guess.

Don't hold your breath...Since the playoff system began 48 years ago, in 1959, the Birds have appeared in the championship game about every two years (23/48=48%), winning about every 3 years (17/48=35%). Not a bad run, winning a 3rd of the championships over almost 50 years. All the while playing up. We are enjoying it and hope to continue enjoying it. I believe you had chances in 1999 and 2000.

Several posters have mentioned this. Stats seem to disagree. In 2008, JC attempted 28 passes in 10 games (2.8 per) with 12 of those coming against Belfry. Only 10 were completed (5 against Belfry) That leaves 16 attempts, 5 completions in 9 games, 1.8 attempts per, .56 completions per. Only 2 of the 28 went for a touchdown, 1 for 22 yards, 1 for 26 yards. They average less than 8 yards per pass attempt, 23 per completion, hardly big yard gainers.

Johnson Central came from behind to beat Bryan station by 4 points. BTW, BS turned the ball over 6 times (4 lost fumbles, 2 interceptions) this didn't happen against the Birds. BS is a good team...not because they almost beat Highlands, because they are a good team. Friday night when Highlands plays Ashland (coin toss 2 seed), it might show how smart the COIN was.
