  1. Woods is a good coach but I thought K.C. was beginning to play well. Is Shearer related to the guard who played in the finals with Owens and Green. They gave PRP all they wanted,
  2. Corbin is beginning to make me a believer. They will probably be the team to beat in the 13th at least the next two years. The Manns kid is the hardest working man in show business. The Smith kid is a very fine all around player and has picked up his offense. Johnson has the ability to light it up but is athletic enough to score off the dribble. All this and Crawford is a big cherry on top.
  3. Where was this game at? I would have thought Knox Central would have won by more than this.
  4. If you want to see points watch the NBA. Which is a more pure game? The kids play hard. Respect them!
  5. I'd still love to see PP at Midnight Madness next year as I'm sure Tubby would. College is much more suited to big men than high school which is a guards game.
  6. Good win for the Dukes in a tough year. Welcome back to Western Pa. for coach Miller.
  7. Durant reminds me of Garnett phsically. He is a freak. Oden/Durant could be Akeem/Jordan, a win win situation. I'll take either one.
  8. Thomas' effert off the bench was huge today. His hustle and determination helped pick them up in both halves when he came in. Perry needs to get tougher or take a seat next to his cousin. Meeks showed his athleticsm today. In the past he has picked the cats up with his shooting. His future is very bright. Morris may suffer from an iron deficiency, he appears to have no energy the last couple of games.
  9. This game shows that Kentucky has the best high school coaches in the country. Kentucky kids are fundamentally sound and have a great understanding of the game. We may not have the most talent but we are the best prepared. I have watched games in other states were the coach wouldn't have been permitted to coach grade school in Kentucky. Kentucky loves basketball.
  10. Apex that is an excellant observation. Jim could use some help. I am a big fan of the Teague kid and believe he should have been included.
  11. Americanman I am friend. I just did not believe they were ready for that game. They have improved tremendously since. I believe that it is confidence in both themselves and their teammates that has made the differance. There are still teams in the 13th that they can't beat this year but there is light at the end of the tunnel. They lacked that confidence against South and let South's press overwhelm them. That was a lesson learned and it benifited them against Corbin. They stood in there last night and kept their heads up. Coach Robinson has done a great job.
  12. DRAGONPAPPY you and I must have watched the same game. The kid made Somerset impossible to defend that night.
  13. Bubba Timmy loved basketball. He was blessed with ability to play both sports. Football was his calling but basketball was his love. Bubba what are you doing on a football thread? Kids should play what they love but he had the ability to play an NFL corner. He also could have been a world class sprinter.
  14. The shot looked in time on WYMT. It seems like Hazard and Perry draw each other more often than not. This makes this rivalry that much more intense.
  15. Let the Sentinal Echo cover South and North. When is the last time they did a story on Corbin or Whitley. The News Journal is what it is. As long as it sells ads Mr. Forcht has no concerns with the quality of the sports section. He is not concerned with the craft. His only concern is the bottom dollar. Trent knuskles is missed but I know that Jim McCallister likes kids and tries to cover those in his coverage area. 4 schools with both boys and girls is a lot to cover. That is generally 15 games a week.
  16. This sounds like a circus. How are the kids holding up under the constant turmoil? They seemed to have been forgotten in the politics.
  17. North always play hard against their crosstown rivals. I hope they have rebounded from their controversey.
  18. Jackets played much better than the first game. Corbin looked a little sluggish. Hamlin had 7 of their first 9 and had a good night. Crawford had a bunch tonight. Johnson couldn' throw one in the ocean but Sewell picked up the slack by putting misses back in. I believe he had 12. For Williamsburg Mcray had a bunch. Cunningham did not shoot well. Teague and Petit played well. Petit has really picked his game up from earlier in the year. He appears to have regained the bounce in his step. Good win for Hounds but Williamsburg gave Coach Robinson a good effort. Corbin contolled the game but had to continue to press the entire game and Crawford was still on the floor when it ended. Not the blow out many expected.
  19. Craig Yeast was the fastest on the field but maybe not the track. Tim Cornett at Williamsburg ran in the 10.5 range but only played his Junior year before becoming a 6'1" power forward. A great waste of football talent.
  20. Coach Parsons gets the most out of her kids. She has some how managed to beat both South and Whitley who are both loaded with talent. Her kids always play hard and as a team. Her kids are as fundamentally sound as any you will find. She is a great teacher of the game and motivator.
  21. Memorial looked full tonight on the news. It must have been a great atmosphere for high school basketball.
  22. The Hicks kid must be an exceptional shooter. Every time I watch Sports Overtime he lights it up. What are his numbers for the year?
  23. Plus they have the great Mr. Dixon as sports editor. Mr. Parsos also does a fine job.
  24. Did you see this game? I have not seen Paris but Somerset always plays hard and is usually very competitive in their region and district.
  25. Everybody has struggled against Belfry the last couple of years. They both have great programs and this is one of the better rivalries in the Mountains.
