Buddy, I didn't compare HHS and CovCath to anyone in Ohio. You should learn to read. I hear X is good in academics as well. Wow, first you talk about me, then you make something up. You say what you want about Lexington, but you can't prove that anything I'm saying is wrong either. You wanna talk about scores, then lets talk about when those scores occur. The first five weeks vs. the state semi's. Now you as a X fan should've learned soemthing from twop years ago, but I guess school was out for you then. You say Manual needs to quit with the excuses, right? I say that now you are making those same excuses for them. Then to excuse yourself, you say I can't have it both ways. Weak, very weak. X and Male both have down years just like everyone else so the have more than enough opportunities. I don't hear the Male fans or better yet the PRP fans whinning about how tough their district is, just Manual. And that's because they want to make themselves feel good about being mediocre with all that tanlent they're supposed to have. It's Manual who say there better or would be at the top of our district, not us. Then, after all that, when we question how good they really think they are, they run behind the excuse of their district being so hard. You have a pretty high position on here, so I guess I'd better be careful. When does a team stop complaining and get better? Have you paid attention? There supposed to have superior talent right? How do you get a two way out of me saying they don't make the region and complain about their district? Dear Woodsrider, what are you talking about? That's your opinion about the toughest district, but how about this. Most of the time, the toughest district/ region produces the state champs because that same district/ region prepares them to be champs. Check Cincinnati, NKY, etc..:sssh:

This arguement is old. Here, Manual is now a part of the Big 3, now renamed the Big 4 or 5 if you want to include PRP for christmas. Are all of the pro Manual posters happy? Someone from outside the Manual bandwagon categorized the (just found this one out) Crimson with the likes of T, X, and Male. Now go out and make it to the regional finals at the least. You say compete, it shows out of the past what 7 at least, you're a no show in the regional championship game. Please explain that? Male has been there, what's Manual's excuse?

Maybe at #5. It's not about the neighborhood, it's about the so-called experts. Go out and bet on these experts and you'll stay close to even, up or down. Experts are no different than you and I, so they shouldn't be seen that way. They look at teams and listen to people talk, just as we do, and then come up with something, just like we do. Your point you are trying to prove is a two-way statement. On one end, you agree that they don't prove a thing. Then you say they associate, but really they don't. It happens all the time so here's an example. A top team from Texas plays a top team from Ohio. Now from what our so-called experts say, football in Texas is second to none, Florida on a good day. The team from Ohio wins the game, but wasn't ranked as high. That's why we play the game. The same thing when UK pounded Ragone into the turf at the Pizza Box. UL was ranked signifigantly higher than UK that year. Trinity was ranked signifigantly higher than Manual at the start of the '03 season.

The guys that rated Ohio St. over Fla. were experts too. And probably them same people or similar rated Duke over Va. Commonwealth.. I think these two prove they have been embarassingly wrong amongst other scores of games in the past.

No. Clearly not. My thing is ratings never really prove anything in any level of sports. It's just a more advanced way of human opinion. Not worried because they ended up higher in a rating system. We all have alot to be proud of here in Lexington because in the WLEX high school sports zone polls, a Lexington team is always number 1, even rated over, yes, the Trinity Shamrocks. That's a clear indicator that ratings mean nothing.

Yeah, but didn't they lose to Dunbar head-to-head. It's incredible how some expect those ratings to prove more than actual on the field outcomes.

I never said that it makes one team better than another. Was just proving a valid point that ratings mean nothing really. As for harder bracket, that is garbage. Playoffs means best of the best, and nothing else, regardless of where you are. I'll say it again. We usually play the state champs when they are at their best. The only two teams who should really be arguing about it are X and Male, because they have to play them not only at full throttle, but when the stakes are the highest. Ryle could argue for this past season also. Playoff performances are an indicator of strength. Alot more of an indicator than those regular season games, especially the ones in the first 5 weeks.

But you can't have one without the other. Also, the teams here would actually pay attention to who the are, their team identity, style of play, etc.. Right now, Manual is just a high school in Louisville and if my lil cous didn't live off fourth street in the area where the school is, I'd never known where it was. They would probably be a bigger name here because there is only 5 public high schools. Is Manual's coaching staff really that good? I haven't heard much about them. To tell the truth, nobody here knows much about Manual, unless you are just a football junkie.

Ratings really won't help. You can rate a team higher that goes out in the first round of the playoffs and plays in what supposed to be a tougher district, than a team that has two regional championship trophies and loses in the semi's to the eventual state champs. Scheduling is a big part of those ratings, win or lose.

I agree with almost all of this statement. The part about Manual being in Lexington and being a bigger name is not true at all. For one, their talent would be dilluted by the district lines. I think that's the biggest part that people are missing when posting the comparisons. Manual gets kids from all over Louisville, Lexington has zoning districts, so that talent wouldn't be all in one bunch like it is now.

And in the class, that's it. Nobody else and Male is questionable at least half of the time.

Tates Creek is the most run oriented EVER.

No, the difference is the Bush's, Jones', etc.. Mike Meighan, I think was as good as Redman, but other than Ben Meighan, he didn't have that state championship QB. Redman has had alot of D-1 and NFL level talent at that position.

What would you consider top shelf in Lexington. Everyone with the exception of Lafayette has had their recent playoff runs. Manual and PRP beat PLD in years they didn't even make the playoffs. What supports your claim.

And who is above Lexington as far as football goes?

Another thing. Hensley's a good guy, but this ain't East. The fans and Alumni are a bit more spoiled by the Meighan era. That's what he signed up for, the challenge, and he's gonna have to deal with the ups and downs. His quick success also spoiled the group with him also. That's probably what I like about him the most after talking with him. He's an extreme competitor and things should get better real soon if all the players take his attitude. A few adjustments from the 3A level and he's got it. Great personality that Hensley fella.

I've been there. I think in that situation, running Greene that many times in a row was not the best thing. He is the stud back, no question, but Creek and everyone in the stands knew where the ball was going. Run something of a fake off of him to someone else, either a run or a pass in that situation, and kick the field goal. I hear Nichols is really good. You can lose to the Kentucky School or the Deaf if that happens, just don't lose to Tates Creek.

The staff is good, but I think even the most die hearted Bulldog fans got tired of seeing Fullback trap 30 times a game. The Tates Creek game was lost on the sidelines though.
