Meet the coaches was held last night. Appears that Blake Preece and Joey Cecil are staying onboard. Coaches Skinner and Wilcoxson have joined the coaching staff for the upcoming season. Had a great turnout and the kids are very motivated about the changes. I'm wishing Coach Salmons and staff the very best!

Lawrence Co. came out on top 16-6

My opinion counts for nothing but Chuke left here on his own-he doesn't deserve to come back.

How true, but at least we can amuse ourselves by thinking our thoughts count !!!

So on that note, we as parents have to make it heard what we expect from our school system and demand that they listen to what we have to say. Although that has never seemed to work with this admin, maybe if we are loud enough as a group, we'll get something done. Nobody is more a part of Bulldog tradition that Goldsmith, but I think we need to look at the bigger picture as to why he has to leave.

I have to agree that LC youth program is exceptional. Our feeder program really took off when Coach McPeek was here. He was the first to ever grace Saturday's youth games followed by Billy, both of whom seemd to have a genuine interst in the feeder program, and those are some of the younger kids playing for LC right now. I personally have only hearsay knowledge of Cyrus so I by no means am an expert of the subject but I really don't think the powers that be will look his way. Lc has some kind of phobia about local guys in charge!!! Anyway, I hate to see Lc have to go thru another rebuilding but I suppose it is time.

ABSOLUTELY!!! There has been way too much controversy with him throughout the years in the youth league PLUS I would think the fact that he left LC to graduate from another school system for sports should haunt him now. Anyway, LC should look inside at Luke Sammons-great guy!! The boys love him and he's new enough to not put up with all the crap that has been allowed for so long. Figure he'd clear the sidelines of all the extra weight and inspire the guys to play ball. Cecil, Dixon and Caudill are fine guys as well but not sure if any of them are even interested. It sure would be hard to keep your fire when dealing with this school system. Losing Billy is tremendous BUt its time-he doesn't seem to feel it anymore. And in all fairness, Boone can't get a fair break here as long as his Dad is Coach. He's a great kid and will do well whether he stays at LC or moves on. I'm sure the lot of us hate to see Billy resign.

You might want to check with some of your Lions-they too were running their mouths!! Not sure that advancing in this district is anything to be too cocky about....

Don't count on it-Boone is back in the game. LC started Boone last Friday against Letcher. Shepherd ran 1 series in the beginning and didn't QB again until the end of the game(as usual, too late). We all know how it goes...this team looked so much more comfortable the 2 games Shepherd started and the offense ran so much smoother but apparently that doesn't count for much. If the Dawgs want this one, they better get it together. They have to play ALL 4 quarters and trust me, Boyd will want this one. The question is, does LC??

From what I heard, it was probably the best game Lc has played this year-on both sides of the ball. But you are correct, they will have to play so hard against Boyd to get that win and I think it will come down to who wants it the most. The boys need to get this one for themselves....

Probably should have been clearer- Letcher 31-Lawrence Co. 14

Final 31-14 Was really a game up until half time-scored tied at 14 until just before halftime when the Cougars kicked a field goal to go up 17-14. Dawgs fell apart in 2nd half and just could not get into the endzone.
