Well, if you are a student trying to pick out where you want to go to college, then you might consider those facts... But we are talking about the HIGH SCHOOL Football Championships... what's the night life matter anyways? If it's that important to drink and have a joy good time after the games, then just sit at home, listen to the games on the radio, and drink until dawn. For me, I'll just run back home.. or if in Louisville, I'll grab a bite to eat in a nice resturant (which BG has PLENTY of) or I'll head back to the hotel room to rest after an eventful day.

Well, starting out 0-3 with a team that was "supposed" to dominate doesn't have Glasgow fans jumping for joy... I think people get more angry about the play calling then anything. Glasgow actually started off last night's game with a pass and threw the ball more than usual... but at the end of the game on the 3rd down and 5 (before the 4th and 4 field goal) Glasgow decided to run the ball... which really didnt please the fans (or at least the radio announcers). But IMO, you cant put all the blame on the coaches for the horrible start. Poor tackling has been a thorn at Glasgow's side. Half the time the opposition runs right past a Scottie Defender with out the Defender even attempting to make a tackle. If they do attempt they put a hand around the player and that's about it. No wrapping up, no attempting to tackle. You could put a fast middle school team out there right now and run circles around the Scotties. Luckly, Lamar Howard played D last night, so hopefully he'll get some more time back there. Maybe a little Blake Perkins in the D also, and then you have at least two tacklers. So yeah, spirits aren't high in Glasgow... we can only hope things get better!

Moving the games to BG would be an excellent idea, IMO... then again i'm also in Glasgow! lol. And as far as "What is there to do in BG?"... well... i've been to Louisville plenty of times.. and it's nothing to write home about. I dont see that being much of an issue.. especially for just two days. I say move the games!

Excellent game to watch! The game actualy did not go into overtime. It ended in regulation. Glasgow jumped out to a 13-0 lead at halftime, then Barren County stormed back and won the game in the fourth quarter. Glasgow marched down the field the last drive of the game, but on 4th and 4 Glasgow decides for the field goal as time runs out and it never came close. IInteresting note, Coach Lindsey pulled most of the starters there towards the end. Sophmore QB Trey Alexander finished out the game for Glasgow. I'm not sure if Lindsey was hurt or what? Maybe Coach Lindsey giving the younger kids a chance to shine?

I'm going to say Monroe County with a 35-28 victory. Seems like both programs are starting off the season on the right foot, which I think is great!

Nope. Coach Eubank's last season as an assistant was last year. This is Coach Lindsey's first season at Glasgow without Eubank.

I've always been a Coach Lindsey fan... he's a great guy and everyone tends to give him a hard time about coaching. But I must say, last night I def. questioned a few things. I believe he needs to move Lamar Howard and Blake Perkins back to defense to help things out there. They do need to be rested for offense... but if their D continues to play as bad as they did last night, then I think moving them back is your only choice.

It's hard to win a game when you run the same plays over and over again... this one was hard to watch. But as oneijoe said, Glasgow usually starts the season off slow.. so hopefully things will get better. If not, then they are in for a long season. Which would be a shame, because they have a GREAT group of seniors on this team. Allen County is too fast to be putting 7 guys up on the line (when your D is playing horrible). Once the Allen County-Scottsville RB got around the line it was off to the races. Glasgow's offense played alright... but their D was terrible. Hats off to Allen County! They seem to have a nice offense that I think will carry the team throughout the season.

The Scotties are going to use a strong running game again this year. They have 2 strong Running Backs to power their way through the line. It looks like they're also using one of their WR's from last year as a RB as well... probably for more speed. From what I've heard the Scotties are mixing up their defense a little bit with some new looks. I'm not quite sure what they're doing yet though.

It's alright.. Dragon fans still have a recent State Title they can brag about.

I think the word Mediocre threw everyone off. With that being said.. any team that makes to Rupp is not mediocre in my opinion.. Especially one from the 4th region. Congratulations Greenwood! Been a while since Warren Central hasnt been seen in Lexington!

There ya go! I'm not sure how much the parking garage next to the field holds. You'd think they'd have parking capacity for a sell out WKU game.. but you never know..

Well there are a slew of resturants in Bowling Green... but you might be right about the hotels... Plus WKU's field is smack down in the middle of WKU's campus and people that arent familier with BG more then likely will get lost trying to get from WKU to Scottsville Rd, where a majority of the few hotels and resturants are.

Western will hold about 22,000 after renovations I believe.

And moving the games to EKU would hurt them even more. Not to mention your only going to fit about 20,000 into Roy Kidd Stadium... if T/X play there on a nice night, chances are, your going to have a sold out crowd and there are going to be some pretty mad fans.

Moving to WKU would be alot more convinent for me... but I would like the Champioinships to remain at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. I dont mind the drive to Louisville from Glasgow, I kinda looked forward to it. A good get away. Plus, if I remember correctly I believe the only seating at WKU are just plain regular bleachers... and for 3 games a day, I think that could get a bit uncomfortable. They could be changing that while they're in the process of renovating LT Smith Stadium... but I doubt it.

While Highlands no doubt had an incredible season... I'm going to have to take Trinity and St. X over them. This is why there needs to be a NKY vs. Louisville bowl! lol, that way these daggum arguments will quit popping up!! :lol:
