Isnt that where Stewart Ijames played last year...i heard that he is really young but when i went and saw him play he played like he was a senior in college...so far ahead of his peers...pretty sure thats where he played though????

ive heard a lot about the 14th and some of the regions around individually...lets here some opinions on the top 10 teams in the mountains????:banana:

yea when we play the owls...the first thing that comes to my mind is bowling

yea jessey keith didnt throw in the mid 80's i think he was more around 82-83...not knocking him though..he was a great pitcher in the 14th region..i dont doubt that hammonds could throw that hard and maybe lamar could touch 85 on his best day..he never was consistently THAT fast.

i definitely agree with you kids fan...theres not many guys working from 85 especially in the 14th and like weve all said morgan i believe is the only one. as far as getting scouted goes yes you can get looked at in the mountains but playing outside of the hills doesnt hurt you at all.

yea the yanks could care less about all of eastern ky to be honest with you, not singling out booneville. and how many players in all of ky went to california to play college ball..exactly..if im right there is none...so no one is getting that kind of attention. robert can play at a local school just like the rest of the guys in the 14th...as far as d1 goes THEY WILL FIND YOU if you give them some help..like patdad said.

86 isnt that outlandish..he throws hard..hardest ive seen in the 14th and almost all the teams powell played last year

i agree with you earle..all those guys can hit 80 but. sixty feet six, it is hard to throw an 80 m.p.h fast ball...if it were that easy then we could basically put anyones name up there for best pitchers in the region...tahts what sets them apart. and no sorry i have to disagree i really dont think that smith can throw 86, ill agree with earle and say yea he probably can throw low 80 or maybe a little above it he humps it but 86 is an amazing velocity especially for robert smiths situation setting out a year and all. but who knows well see. i hope he can throw 86 we need some good pitching representatives out of the 14th cause that is definitely what is holding us back from being as competitive as the other regions....and as far as not getting college attention goes...if you are good enough they will find you. word gets out.:thumb:

i disagree if that was the case we would see a homerun in almost every high school game instead of them being a rarity....no trust me from my experience if a freshmen can hit something like that then it is special...and i do agree with you to an extent...if you know exactly what is coming then it does make the game a lot easier

right...i definitely agree with you on that...i have seen morgan throw and he does throw well into the 80's...but i also agree with patdad that with the exception of morgan and maybe bowling that I HAVE SAW WITH MY OWN EYES (sorry robert smith supporters..just havent saw it yet) nobody else in the 14th has that kind of velocity..if they do break 80 its like 80 or 81 maybe 82. and those are people like muncie thomas osborne

smith does not throw 86 m.p.h. no player can take a year or two OFF and get about 8 m.p.h on there fastball. last time i saw him pitch he couldnt break 80 and walked the whole team

i think the arguments said earlier in this post have already possibly ruled melton out of the top 3 or 5...all an opinion but based on facts

they did they only played 10 innings before meeting powell in the finals

thats exactly the way it was...powell was hands down the team to beat...at the end of the season they were ranked 2nd in the MOUNTAINS. on the bgp poll. powell went 2-1 against lee and beat them in 5 innings one game at lee.
