Any thoughts? Villa v. West Jessamine Greenup Co. v. Dixie Ryle v. Bracken Co. Estill Co. v. Lloyd I see Dixie v. Ryle in the finals. Unless West Jessamine or Greenup are anywhere competitive with this level.

I think Lloyd is hosting a tournament next weekend for the first time...the format, along with the teams invited make it look interesting...it's not all that often the people of the north get to see some of the teams from the southern/eastern/western parts of the state! Teams participating: Magoffin Co, Conner, S. Oldham, Beechwood, Villa, Raceland, N. Bullitt, Holmes, Gallatin Co, Newport, Monroe Co., Boone, Lloyd, and Owen Co. I have never seen some of these teams, so it should be a good showcase, as there ARE some very good NKY schools playing. Which of the non-nky schools should we watch out for?

are there any special things at these tourneys other than the competition? I know that sometimes pool play turns into seeding for 1 and outs and so on. I just wish they would change the 4 games=1 to more, so that the tourneys could be even bigger. Perhaps 6 games=1 or something.

Just a thought...it's that time of the year where many teams are traveling either in or out of the Bluegrass to play in tournaments...let's stay in the state...what school puts on the best tournament? Meaning competition level, fan turnout, hospitality, etc... any thoughts?:ylsuper:

that's good to see, since everyone thought Ryle would cakewalk through this...wish Grant was in for the long haul. Standings? Pool A: Pool B: Lloyd 2-0 Ryle 2-0 Newport 1-1 Grant 1-1 Dayton 1-1 Bellevue 1-1 SG 0-2 Villa 1-1 Interesting way it's shaping up. Winner of Grant/Bell will play for #2 seed, and if Dayton can knock off Lloyd, that will throw a wrench into Pool A. Newport, I believe, got their first win of the season last night.

Last nights games ended up as expected, except for Bellevue knocking off Villa. Grant wasn't far off Ryle. Any news? I just saw what was in the Enquirer. They are actually giving a good article towards the tourney each day.

Yes, hopefully Grant is ready tonight, or they will have their hands full with Ryle.

I think this tournament will give all these teams an equal exposure of teams at their own level, with the exception of Ryle... Lloyd 52, Newport 42(per the enquirer/no box score)

Villa 53 - Grant 44, I thought Grant would be the better team tonight...obviously not. Villa is playing well. The Lloyd/NPT score is the only one not posted on khsaa...any word?

First round I'll go with Ryle huge over Bellevue, Lloyd over NPT in a close one, Dayton big over SG, and Grant over Villa in the game of the night :thumb:

Also, Villa and Lloyd are in the same district, which is probably why they are opposite each other, as are Bellevue and Dayton. That could have come into play here as well...just a thought. I would just like to know some times and matchups...16 games in 4 nights should be pretty exciting.

not sure that I would count Dayton out of that bracket actually. They've been playing well so far...I also think that SG was a late addition to replace Holy Cross, whom was originally in the tourney...aren't there 4 games a night?

I would say Ryle will run away with this one. Villa might be a decent matchup, but Villa beat Lloyd by 3 and Ryle beat them pretty good the other night. What is Grant doing this year? Do they have the talent to handle Ryle? I am very impressed with Ryle's play so far.

Does anyone know the times for these games that start this Wednesday and go through Saturday? On the khsaa site it only has the Lloyd games. It's all local teams, so maybe the local fans out there can fill in the gaps. Thanks.
