  1. How many D-1 kids will be in the starting lineups for that game, I know if Ellis plays, NCH will start 3. What big guns does OHA have this year. I haven't heard what talent they have but they usually send at least 3 or 4 a year to college.
  2. Touchy, Touchy, DD, I never once hinted that the birds would,ve done better. Nor did I realize my words were like an arrow to your heart. I can't see what good it is to schedule a game like that late in the year knowing that is one of if not the top team in the nation, and the clincher is OJ and Ellis didn't even play. But go ahead and say it was a learning lesson, I say it was a good ol fashion trip to the wood shed. What the heck add ten points to Holmes total just for scheduling the game, and unless your a sports psychologist how do you know what the dawgs felt after losing by that margin. I never had a coach tell us to forget about a 31 point loss(without 2 of their 3 big guns).
  3. No worries,NCH won't even remember Holmes next week when they get Oak Hills. Isn,t it kind of dangerous to get blown out like that this late in the season, especially when your moral is already down? Hopefully the DAWGS took down some notes or interviewed Walker while he did whatever he wanted tonight.
  4. I think alot has to do with close fouls are called on the inside, personally if you let Ben G and Elliot bang on the inside and ech get two fouls early, I would trade Big Ben on the bench for Elliot on the bench anyday. I also agree Simpson will guard Mains, but who will stop Vories? The two tangibles in this game will be Elrod/Belcher and Tanner/Eaton or Smith? Those two matchups are what will decide the game along with the pace. The Birds can't get caught in the fast tempo the Cats run, if they can't set up that great half court Defense they play it could be a long night for the Birds! Should be a classic anyway.
  5. I am really looking forward to this one, the school I grauduated from vs. my childrens school. It's a win -win for me, not to mention both teams have really good talent this year and it should be a good one.
  6. Brossart has proven all year they can play with anybody, they took PC to the wire at Brossart. I was really worried about last nights game after the loss to Holmes on Tues, but the boys responded well. I have been to a lot of Highlands games this year and one thing I can say about Willies boys is that they do not panic or show neeed for urgency. They simply play hard and give it their all the whole 32 minutes. I think that is a good reflection on thier coach. Also every game I watch Eaton play I think he improves somehow in some area, that kid gets all his worth for his talent. He had the two big shots in the 1st quarter, while our offense was getting started. Good close win for the Birds, they beat a quality team last night
  7. Tonights Game should be a pretty good defensive matchup, Highalnds may have a better offense. Any thoughts?
  8. I'm Guessing tight end, he has great hands, we'll miss him on 3rd & 14's this year in Cakeville
  9. Holmes no doubt is the most atletic team I've seen this year and their potiental is topless. If I counted right they played 10 players in last nights game. Every rebound it seemed like Rice or Hill were shoulders above the rest. If they could run that fast paced tempo all game, i see only a few teams that can compete with them. Can't wait for the rematch with the Birds!!!
  10. But they hyave beat everyone in NKY by a barrelfull of points.....what a joke
  11. Then you could put tanner on Elrod, and the Vories/Mains matchup would be perfect
  12. I like Tanner but Pat Elliot plays so physical you wouls almost have to put Ben G on him to match his strentgh
  13. not to go to far off subject but i am anxious to see if Highlands can slow the tempo against PC on the 18th and who will end up guarding Elloiot
  14. It was that one incident, but three seperate times before the ball was inbounded Rice keep sticking out his chest to him and running his mouth, Ben G was talking to, the refs keep an eye on it, i wouldn,t want to get in between those two,
  15. Cantrell I think gets a kick out of his poll, i keep up with it weekly and the amount of switching, dropping, and jumping you would think his brain is tired from the activity it tjkaes to creativy do all that. I don't put alot of stock in it.
  16. Highalands played 26 minutes of really good basketball and then slowly started self destructing. Inconsistant calls, I agree but it went both ways it didn;t kill either team, Holmes came out the second half uping the tempo and that wore the Birds down. I do however can now agree that Holmes is the #1 in our region, but it will be a great regional tourney. IMO, and everybody has one The DAWGS are one big time bomb, and tick-tock, sooner or later their gonna explode. Rice has the potential to be great if he can keep his emotions in check. Grat game by Smith and Eaton, two unsung role players who both showed up big tonight, and congrats to Ben G, for not putting Rice in the third row even though he was begging for it. This stretch of games will have the birds ready for the tourney.
  17. I've been waiting for this game since we took one from cov cath at their place, LETS GO BRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  18. Didn't see game but to go to a top twenty teams back yardand come away with a win is great, hopefully the momentum carries over to tues against the dawgs.
  19. I beleive Jordan Kremer of Highlands had close to 200 yards rushing in the first half of thier playoff game against West Jessamine
  20. As far as the students go..... I remember when i was in 5th grade and would go to games with my dad, and would see those crazy kids yelling for our team and against others and wanting nothing but just my chance to yell like those crazy guys,....... then my freshman year finally came and for four years i was one of those crazy, foulmouthed, deragatory students trying to root for my team while drawing the attention and getting in the head of the opposing team......now as a thirty year old father of a 4th grader who i take to the games I set and watch those same student sections in amazement and can't believe i used to be a chant leader of that crowd..... My point, we as people (especially high schoolers)make misjudgements without even realizing sometimes the big picture. I wouldn't trade my high school days for anything, even though i regret some of the things i did i wouldn't change one chant at a single game i attended. High school students get caught up in the atmosphere, especially when their team is a winner and rub it in.....if you thought PC's fans were rowdy don't attend a Cov Cath home game, those boys are brutal. And one more thing if anyone is reading this who played ball for Bracken Co from 90 - 94 ....sorry for all the bads things i once said as a crazy highschooler
  21. Mains played he got two fouls in the first and a quick foul in the third and sat probably the last 4:30 of the half. He then picked up his fourth with about 3min left in the third and sat until 4:30 left inthe game. His bball i q is unreal and when he is in the ball is pushed and and turnovers are down, we will really miss him next year
  22. First quater Pendleton blew up, really took the wind out of Scott's sails early Second Quarter - foul trouble with Maines and Belcher. PC had trouble without Maines handling the ball, Scott made some shot, cut the lead to four at the half Third Quarter, It was a prettty even quater, both teams made shots, Maines got his fourth foul and had to sit, Scott played good Fourth Quater - Scott slowly wore down, they looked pretty tired and PC strected out the lead for 15 point win It started out looking like PC would blow the doors off but Scott settled in(with some early foul problems from PC) gained some condfidence and amde a really good run. Scott played with a lot of heart and emotion tonight, 25 for Scott hit some key shots and played some really hardnosed D tonight. But in the end PC's pace wore down Scott and those boys wee really drained. I had the good fortune of sitting behind The Wildcat bench tonight 3 rows. Coach Biggs is a true teacher of the game. During the timeouts he gave his instruction, lokked the boys in the eye, repeated the key points and was giving them scenarios for three or four plays ahead. He and Caoch Carr were really animated tonight. A really good game all around.
  23. Once again, Feb 7th will be a good measuring stick for Highlands and Holmes. When Regional tourney comes around one of the 3 teams(cch, Highlands, Holmes) will have to beat the other two to advance to Rupp. A dogfight in the semi's could benefit the odd man out.
