Another big win for Boyd County. Fairview and Boyd have established themselves as two of the top three in the region. East will try to slow the tempo down, but they cannot score and they cannot stop Owens.

Ferguson had 22, Weddington and the Faulkners also in double figures. Elliott played about like the Rowan County game in the first half by outscored Menifee 28-10 in a well played third quarter. Until Weddington is played inside instead of outside the three-point line for the majority of the game Elliott will continue to struggle offensively and on the boards. He is a good ball-handler, but with the twins he isn't needed there much of the time.

I think the poll is as good as anybody could place these teams. Elliott is very hard to rank. They and a couple of others could beat any team in the region and could lose to any team in the region. I would hate to have to rank this region if my job depended on it.

Elliott laid a real stinker and Rowan played well and took advantage. Elliott stood around on offense and defense and tried to play one-on-one the whole night. Rowan played good team defense and stopped penetration most of the game. As long as Elliott allows Weddington to played outside the three point line they will not win against even average teams as they cannot get a rebound. Weddington is an excellent rebounder and passer if the coaches can get him to do it. If they cannot, it may be time to give another youngster some playing time.
