KF-here's a little note that i've learned over time. There is no use arguing or evening using facts with Hazard fans (ex. bailey is the best, hicks is the best, no one can beat pcc come tourny time, hazard will win the all a, etc). If hicks (imo's pick) or bailey (commodores pick) were interchanged with Gilbert, they would not have anything near the year that he's had. Gilbert is taller, better leaper and stronger than either. Double teams would kill them & they would have to pass out of them. Does gilbert shoot many contested shots?? yes but he shoots a higher percentage of contested shots than his teammates do open. I've seen 2 games & he's tried to get people involved & the team falls way behind. He puts the team on his pack & gets them back in the game but doesnt have the legs to finish.

I heard from a friend that Brossart scouted both friday nights games & saturday (not sure??). I do not know if Lee or buckhorn sent anyone to see brossart but normally small schools dont have the assistants/staffing to do this. Defense will be the tell in this game.

Each game?? I wasnt at the lee/owsley game but i wonder about this statement. Owsley scored 39 points. smith scored 21. that leaves 18 points or at most 9 assists (excluding 3 pointers & free throws). Maybe you meant "most games" but i didnt see the stats but i doubt he had 6 or 7 this game.

You can do your research!! there are MANY MANY threads on Lee county but VERY FEW on Bishop Brossart. but i'll help you out & see how 10th region fans are?? lee starting lineup (not sure on #'s) pg brandenburg 5'9 or '10, decent shooter & runs the team sg liesegang 6'1 good shooter sf fetter 6'1 leaper & shutdown defensive player pf liesegang 6'1 good shooter c rich 6'5 banger, rebounds & can be a force in the post main 2 subs (that i know of???) Taulbee guard not sure height-quick Johnson forward/guard??? 6'1 or so-scrapper This could be found in varies thread but some i got from listening & going to a few games. Not as much Brossart info on this site!! Your Sarcasm was noted...

I'm a huge 14th region fan & will be rooting for lee against bishop brossart. Does anyone have any information on bishop brossart?? I'm sure this information may help lee & give everyone a little insight for this game. Good luck Bobcats!!

If anyone watched the all a games, this questions should be mute. Cody Gilbert is the best player in the region without question.

This does take credit away from Lee. They limited owsley to 39 points and buckhorn to 41 (97 the night before). When a team plays good defense & contests MOST shots that makes the normally easy shots hard. Shooter dont say well no one is around, i'll make it, they get in the flow of the game were they rush shots & when you rush easy shots, you miss. This is all to do with the DEFENSE & not as much to do with the types of shots that are taken.

I'm not knocking him at all. He makes this team better but if they're going to lose then it might be better to let some of the youngers guys get valuable experience. Looking at what "might" be best for the team & not one individual.

I dont think the 14th all a gives mvp or tournament teams. I didnt go to the game but listened to it, i didnt hear the announcers say anything about it.

thought #1: Lee played good defense and forced owsley into some bad shots thought #2: Owsley has some good talent returning next year thought #3: Smith is a great player but putting it in his hands and his hands only will hurt this team in the long run since he is the only senior. thought #4: Buckhorn & Lee will be a GREAT game!!

Riley played a great game & the entire team was solid. Took probably 5 charges & several that were called blocks (charges imo). Gilbert seemed to try and get everyone involved early but they werent hitting so he took over & at least made it a game late until his shots stopped falling. Buckhorn played really really hard & wanted this one more!!!

Did anyone see Gilberts game against buckhorn??? He turned into kobe bryant for about a 5 minute stretch. cutting buckhorns lead from 20 to 7. Wolves defense was just terrible-97 points against!!!

I've never heard of lee being the BIG SCHOOL but i guess they are tonight!! ironic

How do you figure professor?? Lee played @ owsley without smith in dec & won by 13. played to time with him & won by 19 & 21??? I'm not disagreeing with you totally but I wonder about these facts!! I think Smith is a great kid and a good player but I wonder what impact he is having on "the team." He is the only senior & came back in January as the savior of this team. How do you think the rest of the players feel about this? Smith scored 21 last night & neeley scored 9 equalling 30. How many times prior to smith arriving did Neeley score 30???? I can recall several times. It seems that smith is drawing much more attention & will affect the entire nucleus of this team next year.

I could get a sense of that & was hoping it was just frustration. He's a really talented kid but with "character issues" being at an all time high, it was a concern. I'm sure after talking to him, one would change their minds. Thanks for your insight!!!

KF & MW- Gilbert is very talented & with his skills & athleticism could possibly make it to D-1 (mid to lower level). His size doesnt hurt either. He's seems to be a good kid but his attitude might be a question mark. I've only seen him play a few times & i've questioned some of his actions & behavior. I might be completely off base but if i were a recruiter, this would be my biggest concern.
