16th Region All "A" Tourney
Uncle Jed replied to Uncle Jed's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I believe RH's size advantage will win out. -
It comes down to two teams IMO. Rose Hill and Elliot Co. As a fan I feel RH will win, but Elliot will be tough. Both will represent 16th well.

Rose Hill 73 Lawrence County 39
Uncle Jed replied to Fastbreak's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
There were three very good and fair referees working this game. I am sure they had as good a view if not better view than you from the stands. And as Fastbreak said their call was confirmed by video. Maybe your view was couded. -
Fortman scores 1,500th point

Two players on this team have now reached 1500 points. Congratulations to both of these ladies. Good luck in the future. -
Rose Hill Hosts LexCath

If LC thinks they are going to come to Rose Hill and be handed a win they are mistaken. Every girl on Rose Hill will give 110%. If that is not enough, so be it. I have watched these girls a lot and never seen any of them not work hard. -

No this is the only issue I would like you to clear up. Thank you. I also think we all live in a conflicted world. -

Francis if someone wrongfully speculates that I am a communist I am prepared to set the record strait. I am not. Will you do the same? -

I think you will be impressed. Chase Jackson and Tony Arthur played well tonight as did Michael Fuller. You got to hand it to Lewis Co. They never gave up. -

I haven't seen Elliot or Greenup, but I have seen the rest. Have you seen Rose Hill? -

I reread both your post and mine and I'll stand by my statements. Allowing speculation about the coaching staff of RH without correction indicates that is who you are talking about. And if it is not, you should clear that up. If you are speaking about the coaching staff, it could properly argued. -

Aunt B, I have heard you criticize others on this site for not identifying themselves. I would submit to you that what you have done in this thread is worse. You have laid a disapointing season at the feet of two people, but failed to name them. This could cause hard feelings for several people or several pairs of people. Personally I just consider the source and your opinion means nothing to me, but there are some who are more sensitive. I would say if you don't have the backbone to say it keep you fingers off the keyboard. -
Those of us who don't like a 14 year old kid being picked on. And FYI I would care if it were a kid on your favorite team.

Alex Barker Recognized for 1000 points!
Uncle Jed replied to Rickyp's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congratulations to Joe Barker for raising a great kid who can also play some basketball. Alex has to be one of the top players in the region. -
Rex was litterally the 6th man on the floor for Fairview tonight. Great game by the eagles.
-
Johnny may have had the best all round game of any player on the floor. Way to get the win RH.

I remember this referee getting onto O. J. for the same reason. You do the math.

Ashland Area Sports Coverage

Welcome Kybuckeye, You are speaking as a newspaper person. Let me speak as a consumer. Give me what I want or I won't buy your paper. Give the people what they want and subscriptions go up. Subscriptions go up hire more writers, give them more of what they want. -

I read the Sunday paper at about 5:30 PM on Saturday night before I left work. But I do think the Independent has too much of an Ashland bias. It claims to be a regional newspaper. -
If they are professional this shouldn't be a problem.

I think it's unfair to criticize people for not coming to games when their team was not doing well. It's hard to watch young men struggle like the kids did for a while. That does not mean the support was not there. The people at RH church supported the boys in a lot of ways. The kids who were on those teams don't have any problem with the fan support they are now getting. The only problem is coming from fans at other schools. -

It's good to see Rose Hill getting some press in the Courier Journal. The Ashland paper gave them about a half paragraph. They did do a pretty big story on Russell hanging 63 on Fairview.
