First Litratings for girls will come out in the CJ this Friday (Jan. 9).

For the past 6 plus years, we have averaged 40-50 girls vacancies per year. So the # is in no way unusual per the trend in Kentucky at least.

Bylaw 6 is the key and the eligibility is fine this coming season. Your original question referred to the on-going debate over whether to amend Bylaw 6 to include 8th graders that "transfer" from one system to another - all tied to the public private debate and the objections to private schools getting 9th graders that played varsity for public schools in the 8th grade or younger. I'm not sure whether that amendment has passed at one level and is awaiting Board of Educ. approval, or whether the amendment lost/was delayed at the KHSAA or Board of Control levels.

That is tough on Crutcher. However, in general, it seems like this school being 'relatively' new and of such a large size with presumably great resources could/should do better in girls basketball - any reason why they've been down basically since inception?

How many total KHSAA schools are there? I hope the new 125 school rule does not turn this in to an all-AA format. It's bad enough with the likes of Lexington Christian in the All-A.

and....? Any word on acceptance/time frame?

Anyone hearing anything on the Louisville Ballard job? That is a fairly big position with a lot of potential - the big rumor from a few weeks back was Rose Hill's coach moving to Louisville for the job and bringing her all-star son player with her to play for the boys - anyone hearing that in the Ashland area?
