Highlands/Anderson County Updates

Is there a radio broadcast, or live stream video for this game. I have searched and cannot find either. -
Covington Catholic 21 Highlands 14

I agree. Also, keep in mind, a safety is different than a touchdown. The entire ball needs to get across the line for it not to be a safety. Reffing is a tough job, and some plays are harder to see on the field than in the stands or from the sidelines. No criticism on the refs at all, but it looked like the wrong call to me as well. -

Given the outcome of last nights game, is Cov Cath not as good as advertised, or is Highlands just that much better? -

Great game tonight. Highlands very well could have won the game. Superman might have come out with the win, but he looks a little bloody to me. -
5A #1 Covington Catholic vs 5A #6 Highlands

All I know is that the 97 Highlands team was arguably the most talented to ever go though the program. Definitely the most talented not to get a state title, in my opinion. -

Frisk was a great player for sure, but the Colonels still had a lot more college calliber guys on their side than Highlands did that year. -

1997 would have been a Cov Cath upset. -

Don't ask me why I remember it so vividly, but in 95 Cov Cath was loaded with talent again, and was supposed to beat Highlands easily, I had heard a 3 TD underdog. Highlands won 48-18 in the first matchup. The playoff game was a much closer, 3-0, outing. Both games were played at Cov Cath because Highlands was a 3 seed in the district while Cov Cath was still the 1 seed for the playoffs... rival games can be weird. -

There have been many games during this rivalry, in the past, where one of these teams has the obvious athletic advantage, or clearly has the better team. Historically, that has not always meant victory for either side. That is what makes this rivalry so much fun for both sides. Crazy things can happen in this rivalry, and it has been unpredictable at times. This game might be closer than people think, especially when you consider how comfortable CCH looks right now, and the fact that Highlands looks hungry again. It's hard to make a prediction here, but I can't wait to see how it plays out. -

Way to go birds! -
And... 2 weeks in a row, The Birds loose the toughness test.... They've officially forgotten who they are... That's the real tragedy.
-
I feel shocked, Cotton!

Here's comes the toughness test... let's see who's got it!

Lexington Catholic 21 Highlands 18

Saw the game... it was NOT Highlands Football. No grit. No life. No heart. No will to win. Somehow there is no more "TOUGH" in the organization. It's as if there's no understanding of what Highlands Football is supposed to be about. Not sure whats going on, but it's not good. Something has got to change! ... Big time! It looks systemic. I don't blame the kids. I can't take much more of it though. God help the Birds. -
Great question! Been that way all year. Perhaps we should ask them when given the chance.

Not much left to burn after this season....

41-14 birds

Covington Catholic/Highlands Predictions

All bets are off in this one.... rivalry games like this are hard to predict when the dominant team is having a down year.
