:thumb: Agreed, PCC should be a top 3 team in the region. I would put Coach Hatchers team just below Knott County Central in the 14th.

While at JBS last year waiting for a basketball game. The Stepp brothers were on the court playing and shooting.They may not be in their prime any more, but they shot the ball better than 90% of the players I seen last year.

With Devan Evans, Timmy and Travis Murrell, and Tyler Williams all returning Owsley County should be a much improved team from the past few seasons. This returning talent should put Owsley County as one of the top teams in the 56th district.

Greg is a great guy, I worked with him while he was at another district several years ago.

Is Greg Parrett still on the coaching staff at North?

The addition of Misti and Amber Minix from Estill County are a benefit for this team.

Is Gary Stepp coaching JBS agian this season?

Letcher should be the favorite going into the year. They return a young team and one of the top players in the region in Brittany Sexton. This could be the team that gets Dickie Adams back to the state tourney.

PCC should be the favorite, with Knott a close second. It will depend on how quick Knott County adapts to Coach Fraleys system.

Thats a pretty good desperation hire, a guy with a history of going to the state and 500+ wins.

With the addition of Coach Fraley and the talent that is returning, Knott County has the pieces needed to win the 14th region.

Good PR for Elliott County

When Jim Hicks took the Head Coaching job at Owsley County, Owsley was coming off of a 20-8 season and was the 14th region All A classic champions. In his one season at the helm he took 4 returning starters from that team and proceeded to go 12-13 with a first round loss in the all a classic region and a 1st round loss in the 56th district tournament. Then bailed ship for Greenup County. He left Greenup County for a Bath County Team that had talent now may be leaving there. :irked:

Other than the his last name, I have yet to see what the craze is about Jim Hicks. I havent seen him coach in a few years, but several years ago he didnt impress me at all.

Iroquois should be one of the favorites to win the sweet 16.
