Find a way to replace Josh Seidel's 22 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 apg, 2 spg, 2 bpg, etc. They have some good athletes. I think that Wardrup & Shears can give the offense a spark, Creech can bang on the inside, Cheek will do a good job running the point. Likins will give them a little more quickness, but their depth will depend on how fast the frosh/sophs develop. Their #2 PG will probably be Carson, a freshman. They will need to run and gun a little because they won't have the size to compete with many teams that will be much bigger than they are on the inside. Coach Conway has his work cut out for him, but the think about the kids coming back is I believe they will give the effort. NL could surprise some folks who think that they won't be able to replace Seidel.

Coach Conway will have them ready!

I believe that. :thumb: I also think that most will think they are down after losing a player the caliber of Seidel. He set the school scoring record and only played at NL for 3 years before signing to play at Embree Riddle in Daytona, FL. But Conway is a very good coach and will find a way for his young Jaguars to compete. I am just tickled Conway is coming back. There was a lot of talk that he would be leaving NL and possibly heading on to greener pastures. However, the last time I talked to Jim, he and his family are very happy in Laurel County and have no intention of leaving. That is good news that NL finally has some stability in the basketball program.

His first game this season will be a tuff one. His friend and coach of GRC will open their season at North Laurel on Dec. 1st.

I really enjoyed watching Seidel last year, very nice skilled ball player.

And a terrific kid. I wish him well in college.

Is Greg Parrett still on the coaching staff at North?

Greg is still Conway's right hand man. Terrific guy and a very good coach.

They need to get Huff and Gilbert back from South.

They wouldn't be eligible at North if they did transfer due to the new county transfer rule. It doesn't matter, they are at South to stay. Gilbert's dad is the AD at South Laurel (and a very good one BTW).

Greg is a great guy, I worked with him while he was at another district several years ago.

He certainly is a great guy. A good role model for the kids as well. North has a solid coaching staff, they just need to keep the North kids at North.

However, with that being said, North did pick up a transfer from South last year, Cheek who will help them quite a bit this year. Good kid and a solid PG.
