I think its a crock that kids from Mercer can join athletics together but they can't be in the same classroom together, Why even combine the football team if you can't completely combine the students. Makes no sense to me.!!

Next year will be just as good of a game, Belfry will return alot next year, they are very young...I know G. Epling is a senior, and May is a junior and I think Chapman is a junior. Belfry's defense is extremely young as well.. starting alot of sophomores. Should be a good one on Pond Creek next year as well.

I totally agree Pirate Pal, the player in questions should have been sent to the locker room, well before halftime, I seen the coach getting in his face and then pat him on his butt and send him right back in, and then he would do the same thing, I mean some sort of corrective action should have been taken, It was clearly obvious to the Pirate fans and to the Coach, so why are Pikeville fans arew here disagreeing with what happened.

As I have said before... Pikeville came out of the gates way too emotional.. maybe it was thier community pep rally they held last night, but Belfry on the other hand came out with composure, and with a swagger of a team who knew what the task ahead of them was all about, this isnt a slam on Pikeville, but Belfry held thier emotions in check which is a lot of times the deciding factor in such a rivalry.

And IMO it would be a whale of a game.. where would it be played?

Sorry you feel that way, I didnt name the player, as I dont know his name, and I never said anything about him personally, just that he let the game get to him in a way most players dont. I have no disrespect for him at all and it was a great game to attend.

The Belfry Pirates never get rattled, thats for sure! They have confidence and they have fan base behind them that won't let that happen, Success breeds Success. The Pond Creek Nation was in FULL force tonight!

I agree they didn't give up Zeus, but there is one big reason that Pikeville lost this game, and it is the play of #2, he let way too much get to him and he was a defensive killer with all of the penalties called against him. He didn't have a good game at all in my opinion, football takes talent, but it also takes the ability to be able to handle the pressure and play with some respect and sportsmanship!

I agree Zeus, Pikeville should be in there, I am just glad someone proved that SC isn't all they were thought to be. Congrats to the Panthers on a hard fought gamen against Belfry, and it was awesome to attend.

I think you don't know what your talking about! Thats for sure. Belfry has not been on a downward slide. Belfry took a great Ashland team to the wire and has won every game since, So Russell lost to Ashland are they on a downward slide in progression as well.. you make me laugh! OK Pburg .. as you say .. not as bad as people thought.. ok I agree.. but Pikeville beats them 22-6 and then Belfry beats Pikeville.. you really dont make any sense. No team peaks the first game of the season.

The personal fouls were mental mistakes by one player.. enough said!

Sheldon Clark is overrated IMO, Belfry played thier county rival it is supposed to be close. You have your opinion and I have mine, I think Belfry is right where they need to be!!

Alot of SC's early success was thier schedule.. Pburg was a tough physical team and they beat SC.

Belfry ran the ball all night as well, no matter how it comes they were scores, May had like 91, Chapman with like 120 something, there arew a few more things I can say about this game but won't. I am just Proud to be a Pirate and I know Belfry pulled this out because the team and thier coach have "mental" toughness.. enough said!

All I can say is I am proud to be a Belfry Pirate!! , I dont agree with the crowd statement, Belfry crowd was LOUD! And BillyRay, Belfry ran the ball on Pikeville, quite well. Harman is a stud, but Belfry was the tougher team, Pikeville lost thier composhere (sp) way too much. And it really cost them. Especially thier coach. Belfry was calm from the beginning and it showed, I told my dad I said watch Pikeville they are pumped for this game and are a little cocky acting, and then I look over at the Pirates and they are walking in with thier normal swagger and they take care of business! This was an awesome game and I do give Pikeville a lot of credit, but Belfry was the best team tonight!
