I understand the prices for some things will be more than what might be experienced at a high school. Before two games in the quarter finals would cost you $10 per person, because you had one game per session and then had to clear the gym. At least now you can stay and watch 4 games if you like for $2 per game if you don't leave. But who is to say that you would still get food as cheap as in the past with all the increases in fuel. As for the drive i think turn about is fair play when it come to travel within the region. I think the AD were correct in trying to put together something that was a sure thing for the region. To my knowledge this will be the first time they know what they will get before getting there.

I did understand that the superintendent was spearheading the effort. I was not aware that the others were involved. That is good to know.

I agree Lucky Charms, my point is that from what I have heard there are still things to settle that have kept the host school and the arena from making an announcement. I my world you follow a procedure or protocol in handing things. While I understand that in principle it may be settled, there may be issues that could change. Who knows.

This will be a great opportunity for 10th region basketball. From what I have heard the details that Mustang and Athletic Director Mel Webster announced are correct. The only thing they neglected to say is that they had nothing to do with making this happen. Actually if not for the leadership of Campbell County Schools this would not have taken place. Also as I understand the officials at BANK of Kentucky have not released anything about the official notice is because they know that a contract must still be signed with Campbell County Schools. Looks like once again our friends have jumped the gun again in making announcements. It would be nice for people let those that put the program together to be able to announce it in a time frame that works for them. Just a thought.

This is correct, but it is my understanding that Campbell County gets credit for making this happen!! Go Camels!!

What I heard today in Campbell County, 9th region first round games on Wednesday and Thursday, all 4 first round games for the 10th will be played on Saturday of Regional Tourney Week (11, 1, 3, 5) 9th region semi on Sunday afternoon, 10th Region semi on Monday night. Finals on Tuesday 10th at 6:00 p.m. and 9th at 8:30 p.m. Imagine all first round games on the same day. Basketball lovers dream!! :dancingpa

Place holds over 9000, how would that be for atmosphere. Might be better than the finals of the sweet sixteen? Probably not, but it will be great!!!

I agree with you, I would think your PC team would want it there. Not sure about the other three.

You can say what you want about our friends in Maysville, they run a class tournament, and I don't blame them for wanting to host in their school. I think this will give our athletes a new perspective and something to look forward to for many years.

Story I am hearing from Campbell County is that not only will it be played there, but that the last game will be a 10th Region 9th Region double header, where they don't even have to clear the gym!!! :banana:

Next year is the 37th, but if a two year deal could be made that also included the 38th turn, then 2 of the 4 years it could be at an honest to goodness neutral site. Something to consider, as long as no one gets turned away, and the money is the same.

So What you are saying is, if no one gets turned away, and the schools get just as much money as they are from a Mason or Montogomery hosted tourney, then no one in the 10th should complain about where the tourney is held? Is this a fair statement?

I don't think the people of Campbell County are bitter about the loss. I think we would all admit that we would rather be playing Augusta first round rather than Clark, but that is not how it happened. Our boys put forth their best effort last night and it fell a little short. As for sportsmanship, I saw first hand our superintendent offer to the Kenton County super the chance to present his team with their first district winning trophy. That did not have to be done, it just shows the realtionship and respect that the two county districts have for each other. As for the blue hoody guy, I am pretty sure that both superintendents would have no trouble dealing with any employee that would act that way in public. Someone just needs to let them know who the clown is from the game. Good Luck Camels on Thursday night!!

Probably the toughest draw the Camels could have gotten, but I think if we come to play, then it will be a great game. I would be happy if Camels win by 1. By the way, 1 is all the difference between having Clark vs. Augusta.

All I am saying is that the gym is in the 10th. HHS and Newport are closer.

You are right about playing bigger players, but not about the home court advantage. We only play 1 game a year at the middle school. That is why the schools voted it in as a neutral site.

Don't look for this to happen the way outlined above. I talked to the Campbell County Superintendent last night and he said the 10th has a rotation that only brings the boys tourney to the 37th to decide for next year. In 2009 it would be up to the 38th district to determine girls tourney. He very much wants to see a 9th and 10th double header next year. What a great evening for basketball.

Siver Fox is not wrong, NKU and Bank of Kentucky Center is in Highland Heights, KY. This is in the Campbell County School district attendance area, therefore for the next 3 years the 9th and 10th Region tournaments will be played in the 10th Region. This is a fact!!!
