  1. I am optimistic that the Paintsville squad will pull it together and play with some sense of urgency. The Tigers by 11.
  2. I certainly agree with you, and I didn't once say that a successful coach should go unscathed if he screws up. I hope I am right too, but the Tigers have the ball in their court, just as they have had all year.
  3. It is easy to blame the coaches. You are right, it is his record, not yours, and if you look at his record, that is reason enough to think twice before you question his strategy. The Tigers need a killer instinct; time is running out, and I certainly hope they aren't okay with the loses they have accrued this year. For the Freshmen a year ago that received such high praise, they no longer have four years left to prove they are good -- the time to play is now.
  4. Milburn, I couldn't have said it better myself. You are exactly right, 15th Ragion officiating is miserable.
  5. I am glad to see that the team is beginning to come together. Everyone knows they have the talent and ability, but it is the chemistry that they need -- it looks as if they may be mixing the correct potion. I am a big supporter, so my comments are slanted, but I look for them to make some headway in the All "A" State, and win the 15th Region this year.
  6. I understand that the post wasn't about me, I was just making the point that I can handle it rather than a young kid who has no say as to what is being posted; no problem there. You didn't directly say he wasn't a good basketball player, but you certainly did suggest something along those lines. I was just asking you to let me know what parts of his game aren't living up to the hype. Thanks.
  7. Well, I am fine with criticism too, of "posters", but am against criticism and negativity towards a kid trying to play basketball -- no matter what school or team. I am fine with criticism of myself, because I am going into politics and I am more than used to it already. With that being said, much of the criticism would be thwarted if people put their actual names on their posts, but it seems only more evidentiary that people are a heck of a lot tougher when no one knows who they are. I look forward to hearing why that you think Landon isn't a good basketball player, and how that you think he has received such praise across the state if it is just Paintsville people who are crowning him. Have a good night.
  8. I agree somewhat with you on many of your points. I disagree, however, on the point you made about defense. While I personally don't like the defense the Tigers play, simply because I like a more active, chaotic type over a containment defense, to suggest that the defense wasn't there for the Tigers is a little unexplainable considering Harlan's final point total. Have a good day.
  9. I was hoping not to have to waste my breath on such ridiculous commentary, but I could hardly keep my fingers from typing on this subject. To suggest that Landon Slone is "not impressive" and is the "product of one game" is absolutely, fundamentally flawed. As a Freshmen, Landon averaged about 24 points on a team that had a very difficult season, he was 3rd team All State, and he won numerous awards. This year he has also proven to be a good leader, and a very significant scoring threat. What has impressed me this year is the quickness of his hands, and his ability to play more aggressive on defense. As spectators, we need to remember that Landon is only a sophomore, and he is still growing, still getting stronger, and mostly is still learning the game that will provide for him a free college education. If there is a way to not slander a kid on here, I would suggest someone implement that plan, otherwise, I find myself hardpressed not to be very agitated at many of the posts.
  10. Good Season Paintsville! Let's go play some basketball!
