I think that they are more talented top to bottom than Mason County but that doesn't always add up to wins. Both teams are very well coached. I don't know how may people are noticing but Zollo is quietly getting his legs under him and is putting up the numbers he was expected to. If he can keep this up Clark is going to be a tough out. I'm also wondering what Mason County has done that every one is putting them above Clark??? Not saying that they shouldn't be.

Yes this is true. But you also have to win. And I'm pretty sure that GRC lost 4 seniors (all starters) off the Region champioship team and went 22-8 winning their district and losing to eventual State champ Mason County last year in the Regional. Not 15-13. I'm not saying that Code is not a great coach, just not the best.

When is the last time they won the region???? That's a huge slap in the face to Coach Hump at GRC and Mason's coach who won a state championship last year.

The Catholic game was a tourney final that ended a 7 game in 12 day period and really isn't worth putting stock into. As for Mason County. They have Middleton and who else?? Finally to the experience factor, Grc starts two seniors and Stenzel who is basically a third year sophomore. But I guess we'll see Feb 6th.

Ball handling won't be the big issue with Williams being the primary ball handler. Robert's 15 plus points a game will be sorely missed. I think that Rogers and Stenzel will get their numbers, the question is will Zollo, Brewer, or Daniels step up and put in the 20 plus points Robert is generally going to get. It doesn't have to be one guy it can be a collective effort by the bench. Goldie are you sure gametime is 3:30?? It says 3:00 on KHSAA.

Final. Cardinals dominated the whole game and led by as many as 28 points. Led in scoring by Hatton with 17, Stenzel 14, Rogers 12, Zollo 10, and Willams 4 . The balance of this team is a great sign.

I have two for Clark County. Ryan Williams and Corey Rogers. Williams has picked up where he left off in football. Rogers is getting overshadowed by Vinny Zollo.

Just watched the game online and was very glad to see the effort in the 1st half. The second half was sloppy. Ryan Williams is slowly but surely getting the rust off and seems to be healthy for the first time in almost 3 months. He will be the difference for this team going forward and will help Hatton alot by taking the bulk of the ball handling duties. He is deadly in the transition game with his speed. It was really great to see him be aggressive not only in transition but also in the half-court sets. Also a player that many may not know about is Jalen Daniels. As the season goes on look for him to get more playing time with his ability to rebound and finish inside.

If you say that they might be than more than likely they're not. Well I'll just make this simple for everybody. Russ Middleton is the second best player in the region. And you could argue he is the best. He was a vital piece of Mason County's run last year. Miller getting his 30 didnt kill you. It was Middleton getting his 20 or so on top of it. Clark County thought so highly of him that they put their best defender and player on him in the region finals in 2007 and it was truly the difference in the game. I say he's second because I think that Stenzel might be a little more consistent with his shot. And because he plays for GRC!!:lol: And Zollo right now shouldnt be in the discussion of best in the region.

This years team so far hasn't gelled like i feel like they are going to. The '07 team was in a similar situation the year before the region title win. They were extremely talented individually but just werent on the same page consistantly. If this years team starts playing well as a whole more consistantly they will be ridiculous. The team comment was more about communicating on the court, working as a team. Especially on defense. We have some very talented individual defenders but as a team the defense is not there yet. Even though they could score with anybody, the '07 team's best quality to me was they're defense.

I will agree with you that they were a two headed monster. And with out those two they struggled. But they had a bench as well. They were also very experienced. If you take Robbie off of this year's team they would still be a good team, but you probably would not be talking state championship. I think that as they get older and wiser in the next three seasons they will definitely live up to the title of best ever. They're not there yet though. I can honestly say that if the two teams played today P and the crew would win by double digits. Not because they were more talented but they were a better TEAM . Plus they had Preston. LOL!:lol: 2010-2011 is gonna be fun!

Im sorry everybody i didn't mean to get everybody excited. I was really just teasing MC. The truth really is that GRC is the better team. You can complain about free throws and bad calls. But we can all agree GRC is better. I don't think MC is as close as everybody thinks as much as they got jacked up (like always) to play GRC. To be honest the regular season games don't mean a whole lot IMO. I just want the wins in Feb. and Mar. I think MC will have a very good season with a few bumps in the road here and there. By the way, I loved the atmosphere in the gym Friday night, that was awesome. Haven't seen that many people at a game (other than Mason Co.) in a while.

I can't wait either. But something tells me Montgomery County is not as anxious for the rematch. They will definitely be playing a different Clark team.

But seriously the Clark/Montgomery rivalry, well we just don't like each other at all. Think Duke/NC, Yankees/Redsox, UK/Lou its that serious.

Well it really depends on what time of the year it's played. Post-season Clark vs Mason. Anytime, any place, any sport, Clark vs Montgomery. Some of the GRC vs Mason games have been classics. And if you add in the importance of them and some of the great players(Lofton, Grutza, Litzinger, Miller, Knowles,Jones) it really makes this a special rivalry. If you play in the 10th you know that eventually your trip to Rupp is gonna go through Clark, Mason, or if your lucky both.

The funny thing is that the same people that are talking about the kid now(and there are plenty of haters), will be cheering for him hard when he puts on that blue and white.
