  1. Is "versatility" another way of saying "girth"? Frances
  2. I know, I know. The Geritol doesn't seem to be helping my "Iron poor, tired blood" like it used to. Perhaps I should switch to something with a little more "kick" to it. Wearily, Frances
  3. 74" Vertical??? Man, you're in Dean Hutchinson territory now... Frances
  4. I think one thing that you should keep in mind is that in this day and time, the machines that support candidates do an excellent job of "spinning" previous positions in an attempt to make a given candidate appear to be more moderate than they really are. I think that sooner or later, someone (probably an active politician that is tired of the partisanship games) will establish a third party, that is designed to appeal to moderates from both of the current megaparties. Frances
  5. Yes, but you and I both know that a fully automatic 12 guage shotgun is not really "street legal"... Frances
  6. Well sure - when you have a verified, unbiased source with a proven track record like Rush Limbaugh, why wouldn't you just single source it? Frances
  7. If you really believe that the outcome of a previous game has a direct impact on the outcome of a game yet to be played, then please tell me why we ever play twice in one season? My point was (and is) that if you wish to discount "ancient" history, then please be honest enough to admit that "recent" history has exactly the same value - that is to say - none. At the very least, you could have the decency to admit that you are going to cherry pick your "frame of reference" to suit your argument and stroke your own ego. Welcome back to reality. Frances
  8. Kele - Without a doubt, I had a large part of that "misdirection". I quoted ShooterX3's words back to him, for the sake of comparing the outcome of the two games against Ironton. For that, I apologize. Frances
  9. An excellent post. The truth is spoken here. Frances
  10. I still think that Rowan has a chance to cause trouble at Morehead. This Region is far from decided, and we are two/thirds of the way through the regular season. Frances
  11. Well, you didn't mention that in the original post, but since you bring it up, I'll answer your question with a question: When you mention "head to head" how far back are we going? I'm sure that over the entire history of the series, Ashland probably looks pretty good. Of course, if we are going to throw out "ancient history", then I'll have to ask that we throw out everything but the upcoming game. After all, a game from earlier this season has no more effect on the upcoming game than one that was played in 1937. By the way - I'm just curious - have you checked with Duck, about whether he's going to honor your guarantee? Frances
  12. I realize that shooter and I rarely see eye to eye, but this is one post where I have to give him an "AMEN". Frances
  13. Looking at that stat line, they might have considered sagging on him at the beginning of the second quarter. Monster game for Selby. Frances
  14. Does Dan O'Hanlon get an assist for this win? Frances PS - just kidding, no need to get any feathers ruffled.
  15. Clark has a great coach (Scott Humphrey) and a true stud (Knowles). There aren't many teams that wouldn't have their hands full with them. Frances
  16. Congratulations to Fairview on the nice win. As for the comments about Barker, I'll counter by saying that he has gotten the absolute most out of his gifts that any kid in the 16th Region has. To say that he is overrated is pretty steep. He is the backbone of a very young team, and I doubt that any coach in the 16th Region wouldn't love to have him on his team. Frances
  17. Just a reminder from the thread discussing Ashland's loss to Ironton earlier in the year: First, let's keep in mind that Ashland only put 44 on the board against Ironton, so it's not like I'm saying that we played our best game against them. Second, I don't know that Duck likes having guarantees made in his name. Third, just for kicks and giggles, I visited the Riherds scoreboard, and after 20 games for Ashland, and 21 games for Russell, the numbers aren't looking too good for Shooter's prediction: Ashland 1324 points in 20 games = 66.2 ppg Russell 1254 points in 21 games = 59.7 ppg I realize that the season isn't over yet, but right now, it's not looking too good. Frances
  18. A legitimate question, Old Shooter. I guess on the bright side, it would cover my bun nicely ... I've always thought that he and I might wear the same size clothes - a "skin tight" poncho ... Frances
  19. Heck - after the run I was on in the prediction thread for this game, I would think you'd have to consider giving me a shot at it as well ... Frances
  20. It's hard to believe that they are under .500, considering how well they played tonight. Frances
  21. LOL - "Prevent offense" I like that. I may have to use that one. Frances
