  1. Disclosure of details is very unlikely but thanks for asking. The outlined plan is irrelevant since the majority of the contents is not being followed or enforced. No accountability.
  2. Well I guess there’s a silver lining in all of this with the whole who’s on first thingy. It’s not like teams are blueprinting Highlands offense or defense because it’s a revolving door and teams see something new every year. The problem with this scenario is the kids are certainly confused because of all the changes and it shows on Friday nights. Consistency breeds Confidence which breeds Discipline which breeds Winners.
  3. I believe you are right and I think he got a deal just like Umberg. And as SpecialK stated who seems to be very very close to the situation makes mention of a “Comprehensive Plan of Action” BW maybe has finally realized that this is it and he is not going to let anyone on his coaching staff take him down. If he is going down it’s going to be all his fault and all on his own. Maybe he read my earlier post about “make no excuses” tantrum and realizes Iam right. Let’s put it this way, I know for a fact that every coach under his command has been either demoted and replaced by someone else and everybody knew it but the coach he was replacing. He is a master of text and email firings. That’s not how you build leadership skills and command respect from your coaches and players. This is a train wreck that is barreling down the tracks out of control and I just can’t look away...so sorry I’m back at it.
  4. 23 pages of venting and I’m done. As stated earlier, let’s talk about this again either in the first week of November or better yet in December after Highlands has won the State Championship. I will be the first one on here either way, you can count on it. Until then, I hope the right people read these comments and use them as motivation to themselves and to their players to prove all the na sayers wrong. Use it as a tool and don’t complain that there are people calling for your job and questioning your ability to lead this program. Don’t complain that your schedule is too hard, don’t complain that nobody is in the stands, don’t complain that the School Board is making your job hard, don’t complain that you can’t practice indoors, don’t complain that you are in the wrong classification, don’t complain that people are using social media making comments that bother you and for Gods sake don’t complain that you have no talent. Just do your job, don’t be afraid to ask for help, don’t be afraid to admit that you are wrong, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, don’t be afraid to get involved with Jr Football, don’t be afraid to talk to parents and alumni. Don’t be afraid to find a way to right the ship and for Gods sake don’t be afraid to change your philosophy. GO BIRDS!!!
  5. Good point but I got to tell you this. I know it’s sounds and seems harsh to some but how do you know that half of the team and the parents of those kids don’t stand down and stay quiet in fear of being reprimanded or benched for speaking out. So if the administration won’t do it who will. What did CovCath do to fix their problems with the failed coaching attempts?
  6. When those outside of KY talk about HS Football, the names Highlands and Trinity come up. There are other great programs with tradition but few have the accolades along with the History that these two have. It’s not an elitist thing as some will say, it’s a pride thing and when your pride is being threatened, compromised or taken away from you then it’s time to fight for it. That’s where the passion comes into play.
  7. And for the record, for all those that think I hate or do not respect BW you are completely wrong. He has done everything he can possibly do within his abilities but unfortunately it’s not working. This thing has turned into something that others could have prevented and stopped but chose to ignore. I actually have my issue with the administration. The administration also has access to this site so the message for them is they will feel it financially and see the revenue losses from not acting.
  8. Unfortunately that ship has sailed. He has left his mark at Highlands and now it’s time to pass the torch. He has had plenty of time to prove himself imo.
  9. As well as Bob Schneider most wins ever by a coach but also most losses ever by a coach. These numbers are a state record in KY right? Wow, a lot of opportunities missed over the years with incredible talent imo.
  10. Lynn Rays perfect 5-0 State Championship record sticks out to me and is impressive imo.
  11. Let’s take it a step further. Dale had a knack of asking kids to move positions on the field to help the team as a whole. Lots of kids sacrificed life long dream positions or positions their mommies and daddies wanted to help the program flourish. I know for a fact that kids have told BW face to face that they are not moving and if he or another coach tried to move him then the kid was quitting. This is a very selfish attitude that creates division amongst your teammates for self gratification. This has been a big part of the issue at Highlands since Dale. Not sure how you can be the kids best friend and let them dictate and then expect them to respect you or follow orders when you ask them to sacrifice for the team. A lot of kids and parents resented Dale for this philosophy but as they graduated and grew older they realized that sacrifices builds character and leadership as an individual. This is a very sore spot for me as no single kid, parent, coach or administrator is bigger than that football program and when they think they are you become the norm and average imo.
  12. For the money the best platform out there imo. Opportunity to reach a lot of folks and sound off with my opinions.
  13. No need to answer or beat this to death because the talent is there. If you don’t agree then you explain why Soccer, Baseball and now Basketball is doing so well.
  14. I am not laughing at the program, others are and I am just trying to defend it. Nobody respects this program or loves this program more than I. I will challenge anyone that will prove otherwise.
  15. So needless to say, Highlands is lacking consistent discipline. Discipline takes care a lot of the other issues going on and actually can be the difference between a win vs a loss.
  16. I just read this and spit my spaghetti across the table. Absolutely spot on and classic, thanks.
  17. Nobody tearing anyone down. Accountability is required and necessary. Iam not the reason for the current problems going on at Highlands so why would I need to apologize
  18. Look, you can question me all you want but my answer will always be the same. Unwritten standards are required to coach a Highlands football team. The current regime is not following or meeting those standards so when the time comes and another coach accepts the responsibility to lead our program then at that time if he is also not following those standards then he will be questioned and called out as well. You just don’t get a free pass at Highlands to incorporate your own philosophies and not deliver results.
  19. Not dodging the question. My personal expectations as I have stated is irrelevant. I share the same expectations as those that that agree with me or have played football at Highlands. It is not necessary for me to share those with you.
  20. This is the cultural problem with Highlands right now, lots of excuses. Only new leadership can change this thought process and mindset in my opinion.
  21. Again, I don’t set the standards but I can say my family has served a small part in creating some of these standards. The standards that you speak of have been a culmination of all those teams good and bad that have stood before you on the field. I think my standards follow the program standards and are simple and as you say unwavering. They are unwritten standards at Highlands that must be followed and should not be confused with ridiculous expectations.
  22. Something tells me me that I might be getting called to the principals office...
  23. No one person sets the standards at Highlands, standards are followed and maintained, very simple. Every coach that has been at Highlands knows of these standards and expectations so it is no secret.
