  1. What say you? Henry Minor was a package deal. Kentucky offered, he verballed, his buddy verballed. Now that his buddy switched to La Tech, Kentucky pulled his. Just the business of collegiate athletics, IMO but I'm sure many of the UK fans have a different opinion. Don't forget your pitchforks.
  2. Uh, nope. They're coming after Rashad Mason out of Tenn. And Chris Shiverdecker. Like I said, surprising that they would tell a talented local kid like Anderson that they're full up.
  3. Newt Gingrich had a GREAT piece on NPR a week or two ago on limiting m/billionaire's funding of their own campaigns.
  4. I think Petrino was always holding back the recruiting skills of his assistants. Nearly every recruit goes out of their way to say how personable Kragthorpe is.
  5. We'll know when UK announces ticket sales for the Louisville game next year! just joshin, just joshin:D
  6. Aw, play nice... I thought he kept the conversation lively!
  7. Statistically, I could provide evidence that you're probably wrong (on a per capita basis, of course) but that would be thread jacking.
  8. I thought it was purdy good... the guest stole the show.
  9. With all the UK fans throwing down, how could they?:sssh:
  10. All along. Apparently, he was close to signing before Petrino left, but then backed away a little. But as we've all seen, Kragthorpe is a heck of a closer.
  11. They plan on saving it up for their trip to Lexington...:fire:
  12. Like I said in another thread, think what this guy will do when he has a full year to recruit. He is closing like CRAZY.
  13. That's a glib answer, (totally wrong, too, but OK) but I think LC99 has a great point.
  14. ANOTHER verbal today, this time a guy that was verballed to Wisconsin but is now switching to Louisville. 4 star saftey on Rivals, CJ Peake, is the NEWEST Cardinal! :dancingpa
  15. This is my take on the topic: 2004 was Louisville's greatest offensive team, and I think this past year was our greatest defensive team. This year, Louisville should be better than 2004 offensively. There's just a CRAZY number of weapons, and the O-line is going to be solid in my estimation. In 2004, we had a solid running back by committtee, with Shelton, Gates and Bush. As much as I loved watching those guys rush the ball, this group next year will be better. It's just crazy to look at the depth and versatility Louisville has for running the ball with Anthony Allen and Brock Bolen as power backs and George Stripling for speed (look for Spillman to get a few more carries, too, along with catches out of the backfield.) The WR corps in 2004 consisted of Russell, Clark, Tinch and Jones. That's a SOLID group, but I don't see future or current NFL 1-2 guys in there. Harry Douglas and Mario Urrutia are 1-2 guys. Gary Barnidge is a heck of a pass catching TE, and Kragthorpe loves to get it to the TE. Pat Carter had his development hurt by injuries, but he was smooth on that throw to Allen in the Orange Bowl. If we finally get to see Brohm healthy for an entire season, I think this will be the most efficient and talented group ever to play for the University of Louisville. Defensively, we lost some key guys. But almost everyone of them had a young star ready to step into their place. Our D-line is DEEP and talented, Whitehead, Heyman, Grady, Cox, Williams, Walker, Henderson, Mitchell, that's a heck of a two-deep. Louisville holds over a great LB in Malik Jackson (Mel Kiper called him the second best OLB prospect for 2008, I believe) and another one that I think will surprise people in Lamar Myles, who quitely took a lot of Nate Harris snaps from him with his play. We all know that Willie Williams, no matter his history, can ball, and he's going to step right in and own that other LB spot. The secondary returns two proven players in Rod Council and Latarrius Thomas, and a star that RSed out of high school with injury in Brandon Heath. Turrenne fills that last hole, in both the secondary and the defense. If everything comes together, I think this is Louisville's best team. The schedule isn't as friendly as last year, but the preseason recognition coming off a BCS bowl victory, combined with the talent coming in and coming back, this might be the year. You never know. The JUCO signings have certainly changed the base expectations for this season. If Kragthorpe game coaches like he recruits, he's special. I can't wait to see what he can do recruiting kids for a full year...
  16. I'm sure tO$U fans everywhere reflect your desire to stop talking about football...:jump:
  17. Do not even compare the schedules. As has been mentioned, Louisville may very well face 4 ranked opponents, 3 of them on the road. Besides, Louisville is in a BCS conference. If Louisville makes it through undefeated, and is one of only two or the only one, they'll make the title game.
  18. Possibly 4 ranked opponents, BE starting to get credit as a decent football conference, and a high enough preseason ranking will mean that Louisville will survive it.
  19. Kentucky is over the limit. For all intents and purposes, UK has closed up shop on 2007.
  20. C'est la vie said the old folks. OOC is only partially under Louisville's control. Teams have to agree to play the Cards, and once they agree they tend to back out.
  21. Those rankings are without some of the talent that has committed to Louisville in the past 24 hours.
