I can't imagine why Johnson Central would be interested in playing a double-header like that. If Paintsville doesn't want to play us anymore because they can't beat us, I can't see why we'd be interested in splitting a gate receipt with them when 80-plus percent of the crowd for the game would be our fans. If they're not interested in tradition, I don't see why we should be either, especially when it would involve us just giving away money our program can use.

Because that's the game where Shelby County's star quarterback (who's a top 100 prospect nationally in his class) went down for the rest of the season with a leg injury. That kid was good. Shelby had several kids go down with injuries in the second half of that game, and were never close to the same team after that happened.

Oh, we are talking about The Man in his prime, circa the Four Horsemen days. I am hoping that when the Birds have to "walk that aisle" at The Nest tomorrow night, it feels like "riding Space Mountain" and the Eagles can "style and profile."
