  1. Just like every year, until we know what the roster looks like, predicting a record is a pure, blind guess. I'll say 4-8 for now. Youngstown, South Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina.
  2. Novosad is where my money would be.
  3. Made it official this morning. Welcome to The Ville, Max!
  4. Neal Brown to North Texas.
  5. People see Oregon and immediately see shiny fancy thing with fun offense and ignore the obvious differences in the situations. As for Stein, even if this crashes and burns and he’s out after three or four years, he’s still young enough to get something afterwards.
  6. It seems like a lazy hire to me. If rumors are to be believed, Stein was basically begging for the job. There’s something to be said for someone wanting the job, sure, but that can’t be the main factor.
  7. Some saying Cutter Boley likely will not be at UK next year. Austin Novosad and Luke (both QB) may be following Stein from Oregon.
  8. I think it’s an evolving situation. There will be a lot out there until everything is finalized, which won’t be for weeks.
  9. This is a concept many haven’t grasp, likely due to their excitement.
  10. Didn't see a thread on this yet so please merge if I missed it. UK CB Terhyon Nichols is likely to enter the portal and Louisville may be his destination. Louisville RB's Isaac Brown and Duke Watson are likely headed to the portal. Brown is going to demand a ridiculous number and Louisville is not going to pay it. Miami and Oregon are early favorites for him.
  11. This is another interesting element for Stein. Hopefully the new person doesn't come in and want to clean house.
  12. Not just the SEC, he hasn't been seriously considered for any other P4 job. He may turn out to be a very successful HC, but it's a huge gamble for a team like UK.
  13. Stein has been a coordinator at the P4 level for two years. Was coaching high school ball in Texas five years ago. There's really no comparison in resume/experience with him and Hartline.
  14. I don’t see Charlie Strong leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be a coordinator for someone he coached who is 30 years younger than him with zero HC experience.
  15. I’m just glad it wasn’t Hartline. I can live with Stein. Will has his work cut out for him.
  16. I would be shocked if they hadn’t announced a new coach by Friday at the absolute latest.
  17. UK is talking to Stein today.
  18. IMO this is particularly true for Stein.
  19. UK is in a tough spot, for sure. Brian Hartline - Likely about to be the OC of the back to back National Champions at Ohio State. Does he want to walk away from that to coach at Kentucky? He certainly will have better opportunities ahead of him. But let's say he does take it... He'll be recruiting the exact same areas Stoops did (Ohio) and he won't beat out Ohio State for the top talent in that area, just like UK didn't with Stoops. So I'm not sure that's as much of a home run as it may seem, but probably the "best" of the options I've seen. Will Stein - Rumors are he wants the job, but his recruiting hasn't been all that great at Oregon, and he'll have a fraction of the resources at UK as he does at Oregon. Mullen - Feels like a big time "Meh" hire to me. And why leave UNLV where you have a MUCH better shot at an at-large bid as a G5 than you'll ever have at Kentucky.
  20. I saw that floating around and thought it was funny. I think ole Satt's contract is getting ready to be up, so he's likely doing his usual testing of the waters because it's not going well in Cincy, just like he did at Louisville.
