The best NAIA teams like Georgetown, Cumberlands, and Pikeville last year will be about the same as the teams they will face in DII. NAIA talent is on par with NCAA talent. NAIA allows 26 scholarships, while NCAA DII allows 32. There's not a big difference.

Weak is relative. Henry Clay, Madison Central, Scott County, etc are not weak teams! Sure WC's 4A Region may not be as tough as the other 3, that's up for debate. But it's not weak, no where close to weak. If you're going to throw stones, you'll have to do better than that.

Check your stats. The correct totals for 2005 for the University of the Cumberlands. 105/188 for 1785 yards and 16tds. AND they were the #1 rushing team in the nation. And I disagree about the quality of those that were interviewed, if what is being reported is correct. I think it was a great field from which to choose. High profile doesn't always mean good choice.

The best playing surface in the state is at Williamsburg's Finley Legion Field. As far as field only, I've never seen one any better. Now if you add in facilities as well, Williamsburg doesn't measure up. But I'd stack the field up against any and all including Commonwealth.

I agree, Middlesboro isn't young. Most everyone on their team has a year of starting experience. The exception are their wideouts, but they are predominately an option team. This is a squad that plays below their talent level, which surprises me, because I have always believed Coach Roark to be an exceptional coach.

You're dreaming. Pikeville beats Corbin. LCA has a good chance. And I don't think many people really believe that Corbin was 56 points better than Middlesoboro last year. I say they come through their 1st 7 either 1-6 or 2-5, either way they sweep the district and are district champs. The tough schedule will serve to get them ready.

Corbin plays a muderous schedule. I really have to compliment Coach Jewell on not avoiding good teams in a year that his club is rebuilding. I think 4 wins, still wins their district. I'm having trouble finding more than 1 non district win though. I'm not saying the Redhounds will be bad, they just play such a tough non district schedule, that they are going to take their lumps.

Not really. The records haven't been as good. But the competition has been better. Since you played in 99 (they finished 8-2 that year and tied for the District Championship, lost in a tiebreaker), in 00 They finished 2nd to Rock in the District, and they won their 4A district in 2001, lost in the 4A playoffs in 02, and failed to make the 4A playoffs in 03 and 04. The real difference is that they now play 4A rather than 3A. Put them in their old District the past 3 years, and in 02 they would have won it, in 03 and 04 a 2nd or 3rd place finish. The Colonels are young this year, but should be good based on reports.
