Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
I am for anyone that puts out their own time and their own hard work, as every coach does. I commend that, but not sure this is a true statement. All these Legion kids have earned and picked their spot in College before they play their first game for the Legion Team, whether announced or not. If not, they will get seen in a Legion Tournament, not because their Coach called a College for them.:thumb: BTW, I dont really like the terminology "HIS" players. They are just looking for a place to play in the Summer and that happens to be one of the only spots to play without driving to Huntington or farther. You could call the players "HIS" if he started from scratch and groomed these kids, but filling out a lineup card does not translate to that. Once again, I commend them for their time and giving the players an oppurtunity, but everyone shouldnt look into as more than that.

Congrats to 16th Region Officials
I think "The Boss" meant to use the word "Partial" or "Persuaded" instead of "intimidated":D Just my guess, dont know really.

Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
I would agree that Darby and Morris have been the cog of Raceland Youth Baseball. Even with their help the Raceland Youth Program has dwindled, and that is because of the non-involvement of the HS Program. I really couldnt tell you too many HS coaches that care about the youth programs. I have had kids involvement in 3 different youth baseball programs and they were Boyd, Raceland and Greysbranch. Boyd County cared a little bit. Greg Logan at Greysbranch was highly involved in all the teams in Greenup and Raceland has just a couple of people that even cared. A lot of the Coaches these days are more concerned about making money on the side for Private Training, then they are about the youth talent coming up. BTW, I think Darby should be on the HS Staff. He is an excellent Pitching Coach.:thumb:

Top Players in the 16th region
It is a shame that we did not have a 16th Region all star team that plays other Regions every year. Could you imagine what our Soph Class could do when they are Seniors?:thumb:

Top Players in the 16th region
You are correct. I have seen him twice this year. Once had a great game and once was fair. He definetly is a player though.:thumb: Hey, when you get old you forget everything....You should know about that:thumb:

Actually I did overlook Middleton. He is obviously in the Honorable Mention. I have seen 5 GC games this year and Middleton looked pretty decent in a couple of them.:thumb:

Best Big Men in the 16th Region
That is a true statement, but due to what everyone said, hard for a Center to score when you dont get the ball past half-court:thumb: Also, cant compare Selby playing defense on Euton either, because he stands outside and shoots threes, so most Centers do not guard Euton. Just a couple of reasons why the numbers are not a good comparison.

Boyd Co. 49 Raceland 34
He had 18 pts. Yes, he played Defensive Line and Tight End. Caught around 7 or 8 td's this year I believe. With a little more effort he could have gotten a pretty good College Offer, and still might.:thumb:

Boyd Co. 49 Raceland 34
Just have to consider the source on some posts. I believe for the most part everyone has said congratulations. Always tough to play thru sickness and illness, but better now than playoffs.:thumb:

Boyd Co. 49 Raceland 34
For some reason or another from previous post, I wouldnt expect anything different posted in this situation. BTW, Mayhew had a hangnail and Selby was constipated.:thumb:

Best Big Men in the 16th Region
My gosh, Selby is 300 lbs...How much bigger do you have to be to be considered a "Big Guy"!!!!:thumb: By the way, he is also around 6-5, not really short:thumb:

Boyd Co. 49 Raceland 34
Congrats to Boyd on the Win. Raceland is still a great team and will be fine.

Best Big Men in the 16th Region
Best big man in the Region, not playing Center, is Dakota Euton. Best big man, playing Center, is Selby. I would have to go with Barnhill and Sparks as the next two, Pettit is good but needs some experience. Barnhill and Pettit will be tough in the years to come.
