Lee is playing pretty good ball right now. They should win this one big.

This is a huge game for both programs. They are struggling are in need of a win. It will be a close one, but I am going to take Breathitt by 4.

Very good game all the way. The lead was no more than 4 or 5 until the end. Buckhorn was in foul trouble the entire game and it hurt them. Rice and Gay was in foul trouble and that hurt Buckhorn on the glass. Buckhorn showed that they are for real and in the middle of things as well. Leslie has a very physical team and is one of the better teams in the region. This makes the 54th that much tougher.

Leslie Co. travels to Buckhorn Saturday night. Leslie seems to be playing well right now. Buckhorn has had a good start to the season. This is a good test for Buckhorn to see where they stand in the region and the district. Any thoughts?

In the 14th I would also have to go with Buckhorn. I remember in Coach Noble's first season they only won one game beating Riverside in overtime. Now they are 9-2 with wins over Breathitt and Owsley, with a third place finish in Freeport Florida's tournament. The only two losses came to Louisville Holy Cross by 1 and a team from Louisiana who finished 2nd in the tournament in Florida.

Knott by 2. It should be a very good game.

I am looking forward to the all a this year. It is open for grabs by many schools. However, I do agree that Hazard and Lee Co. are the favorites right now. Still, there are several other schools who could win it.

No doubt! The kid can light it up. He can flat out shoot the ball. When Smith comes back, Owsley will be very tough to beat.

That is true. Hazard was very unexperienced last season, but I look for Hazard to have a very good season this year. They will be one of the top teams in the region again. With Haynes and Hicks on the mound they will be very tough to beat.

I agree. Let's get back to the subject. There are a lot of great players in the 14th Region this season. Bowling from Owsley will have a great year with the addition to Smith. Bowling will be able to play to his ability without having to carry the complete load for Owsley. Stamper from Wolfe Co. is a very good player and will really improve Wolfe Co. this season.

I must be missing your point. This is what I am getting out of it. The two coaches told you that they chose Buckhorn's coach to coach the 14th Region All Star game so he would choose their players for the team and play them more than anyone else. Is that what you are saying? If not, I apologize and I wish you would explain to me what you mean. If I am right, then the information you received was incorrect.

Davidson from Buckhorn deserved to be on the team as much as anyone else in the region. Just becacuse he doesn't play for the power teams such as Leslie, Perry, and Powell doesn't mean he isn't one of the better players in the region. Don't get me wrong. There are a lot of players who deserved to be on the East/West team, but only two make it. Hendrix and Morgan from Leslie and Osborne and Thomas from Lee are all great players. Davidson played very well in the games. If he would have went down there and played terrible I could possibly see some criticism.

I agree. Morgan learned that the hard way in the region tournament. He shook off an off speed pitch twice to throw Tipton a fastball that ended the game.However, Morgan is still one of the top pitchers in the region is not the top pitcher.

I have seen both Hendrix and Muncie play and they are definately two of the better players in the region if not the top 2. I feel Hendrix may have a better bat, but Muncie can handle the bat very well also. However, I feel they are both very good defensively.

I think all of those other players were deserving, but I also feel Davidson deserved his shot. Even though he plays on a below average team, I believe he is one of the better players in the region. He plays hard and has the ability to play college ball somewhere.

Senior Kevin Davidson from Buckhorn is a nice player on a very improved Buckhorn team.
