  1. The Championship Rounds of this boys and girls tournament will be played Saturday! If you haven't had a chance to get out and see some of this tournament, tommorrow would be a great day to relax from all the holiday stress and visit Eagle Fieldhouse. The games start at 9:00 am Magoffin Co. vs Lewis Co. (Boys) 10:45 am Cawood vs Fleming Co. (Girls) 12:30 pm Pike Central vs Belfry (Boys) 2:15 pm Paintsville vs Boyle Co. (Girls) 4:00 pm West Jessamine vs Bell Co. (Boys) Girls Championship Game: 5:45 pm Johnson Central vs Pike Central * This game will feature the defending 15th Region Champions facing off with a top 5 contender looking to take the crown come March in Johnson Central. This game will also feature two of the top players in the state in Kayla Lowe and Selena Conley. Boys Championship Game: 7:30 pm Johnson Central vs Montgomery Co. * This game will pit the young Eagles against a very talented Indians club. Johnson Central is gainning some momentum as it has won three games in a row in the tournament and looking to upset the Montgomery club. Montgomery has size on the inside and very good guard play. Come out to JCHS and take in a full day of great boys and girls basketball, you won't be disappointed!:dancingpa
  2. Johnson Central comes back after a poor 1st quarter to beat the Raiders. Jamie McCarty goes for 46 and Justin Murray has 22 in the win. Johnson Central goes to 4-1 on the season.
  3. Johnson Central runs their record to 3-1 (1-0) with a big district win over Sheldon Clark. Jamie McCarty scores 56 in the win and sets a new school single game scoring record in the process.
  4. Not sure who is giving a look, but they may want to start!!! Pikeville College coach Kelly Wells was at the gym tonight and saw a great performance by McCarty. Jamie should be getting some looks. He is very capable of playing at the next level (D1). He is a legit 6'2 and has good body size. He is a great shooter and not just behind the 3 pt.arc. He rebounds well and can run and jump pretty good as well. Academics are outstanding as he is also amazing in the classroom! He is the type of kid that you won't have to worry about staying on the team because of grades.
  5. Congrats to Jamie McCarty who scores 56 in a single game against Sheldon Clark. Jamie broke the old mark of 50 set by David Couch.
  6. This is an excellent league. We played in the Champions Indoor Classic in Nov. and loved it. The teams are very good and will only make you better. I have talked to several people and they all give it a BIG thumbs up. My son is on a team that will be playing in it from Johnson Co. and we will travel 2 hrs. to play! So, YES it is worth it.
  7. Hey I listened to the final couple of minutes of the CovCath/LexCath game and the post game show. When CovCath announcers were told that Johnson Central won their game one announcer said "Well I guess that we will be playing next week in Johnsonville. I have no idea where Johnson Central is. I assume in the middle of nowhere." That's fine, if we come to play like we did tonight we can leave a lasting memory of good old "Johnsonville"!
